  1. This discussion is long over but I’m wondering... would anyone bother ‘reporting’ someone who logged a find online of a puzzle cache that hasn’t been found in over a year and when I found it the other day, her name was nowhere to be found. It would have been a ‘lonely’ cache but because this person signed it, it isn’t (even though the person didn’t sign the physical log of a puzzle that was fairly difficult for a newer cacher). Thoughts? just curious what people typically do!
  2. Hello all I have a question, I did check out the forums but my search provided no answers. I apologize in advance if it is a stupid question and please excuse my ignorance on the topic as I’m not from the USA. For challenge caches that ask for the ‘oldest Cache per state/province’ ... does D.C. count? A lot of times I see it being used and lists will often include the oldest cache in D.C. but I’m wondering if it’s counted when completing challenges. Also, for example, “4 states in a day”... is DC used?? Thanks in advance NurseB33
  3. By the looks of it, I'm not the only one not-impressed with the new app. I was very comfortable using the older one and didn't have many complaints. However, this new one is a nightmare in my opinion. I could list my complaints, but it's pointless. Let me get down to business... 1. Saving for offline use - anyone know how this is done? Sure, I can save caches to my lists associated with my geocaching account, but when I try to use it offline, there is no map displayed. The older app allowed us to save caches for offline use and gave options for saving with or without maps. I tried using the new one offline and all I got was the cache information but I need the streets to show me where to go. Why is this important? - When I'm in an area with no coverage, when I travel to the USA from Canada, and when I've used too much data and need to save money 2. Anyone else wish we could log the find and drop trackables at the same time? 3. Other than write note, DNF and Found, I can't maintain or disable or enable any of my own caches using this app. Frustrating. That's all I've thought of for now but the offline piece is the most critical at this point. Thanks in advance
  4. Thanks a ton Walts Hunting.... Super helpful and I'm starting to understand all this stuff a little more
  5. Thanks for the reply. So, without using Macros, how do people generally delete data from their eTrex30? Once you upload them to GSAK using publish logs, are they gone from your GPS? When you run the export macro "again" do you mean the MoveFinds macro? And how does that delete them from your GPS? Thanks
  6. Hello I recently purchased an eTrex30 (I was using the eTrex Venture HC previously). With my older unit, I could delete certain caches directly on the GPS, or even delete them all. I also had the option of deleting them once loaded onto GSAK. With the newer one I am unable to. Is there an option I can choose in settings (within GSAK or the GPS itself) to delete found caches once they are uploaded to GSAK? Or, do I need to do this via the file folders? But how do I choose to just delete the FOUND caches? How do I delete all caches? Thanks in advance. I've gone through all the GSAK options I could see and didn't find one about this. I also tried the 'help' section but came up empty-handed.
  7. I'm wondering if there is a list somewhere of all the various challenge caches in existence? I know that many are commonly known like the "half day fizzy" but is there a list I can reference to see if my idea has been created yet? Thanks in advance

I am in the process of designing one... How can I design something then get the coordinates for it, then insure the actual cache is within 2km? I'm having difficulty with all this!
