  1. That is how I see it on firefox on my desktop computer.
  2. Not that I have a clue what Im doing, but for kicks, I tried to disable my ad block for the site, to see if that helps. It doesnt help.
  3. I use firefox and it is not showing up all nice and neat like that. I see the links just as scrunched up links.
  4. Yes, once again there is too much white space on the cache page.
  5. On the left side navigation, its now just links and not a nice visually spaced single column grid separating the links. Visually difficult to navigate.
  6. Y'all are weird. Thats rather fun lol. You can mosey on back to our neck of the planet any time. No socks bunched or unbunched on this Viking.
  7. The last couple of days, I havent seen any banner photos on the home page of geocaching. Just a big white space and nothing to click when I hover the mouse over it. Is it just me or is this happening to everyone? Are the banner photos gone for good?
  8. You have been a cacher all of two months, and only have 145 finds. Try caching for a year before you start making suggestions/ demands for changing the site. Sure, there are some bad caches. You will find those anywhere. Most of the caches in this area are pretty good. Its Arizona. As a long time resident, I know better than to run through the desert or stick my hands in places I cant see into first. You and your kids would benefit from that safety tip. If you want easy caches, then just go for the 1 star caches. There sure are plenty of them around to keep you and the kids happy without having to try for the hard ones. In looking over your caches, the ones on train tracks are at a train park. A park dedicated to trains. They include tracks underneath train cars that do not move. Tracks that are not connected to other tracks. In other words, they do not violate the rules of placement. Hope you find a way to enjoy geocaching.
  9. When Waymarking first came out, I ended up not going to the site any more because it just kept bogging down my computer. That is what it reminds me of now. Obviously we wont stop caching, but this is certainly annoying. Please fix, and it would be nice if someone from TPTB would acknowledge this thread please. So I can see that my complaint isnt being ignored.
  10. The time of day doesnt matter. Im often up until 5ish am, so I will look at it during very late hours too. I had to give up at one point roughly around 1 am this past week because it was so slow I was just getting too many time outs. Its not just images. Everything from the forum, to google geocaching map to cache pages etc loads slowly.
  11. As a matter of fact, I think I can help you out. We recently spent time in Cottonwood caching. We had a blast. At someones home, but a fun one. Nice to meet the owner too. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...f0-053d4827ebc6 A fun "task" to perform to get this good sized cache. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...e7-6f7879c27569 I love cemetery caches http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...39-f76dbcf3934b The weather stopped us from finding this one, but it seemed like fun http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...8b-e48d82d1498c If you get to Camp Verde, try anything by CactusArtKids. This cache is just off the interstate but is rather fun too. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...58-a1475507c0fd If you go to Cornville, a restaurant called Manzanita is ranked among the top 25 in the state. I havent tried it yet but folks I know are repeat customers. Murphys Grill in Cottonwood is a good place to eat too. If you have time, take the Verde Canyon railroad trip from nearby Clarkdale. http://cyberfork.com/murphys_grill/ http://www.verdecanyonrr.com/ Hope this helps.
  12. No matter what time of day or night, no matter which page I want, the site is very slow to load and at times locks up my browser (firefox version 3.6.3) or times out. This isnt happening on any other website I go to. This has been happening for a week or two. I had hoped that the recent fixes on this site would take care of the problem but it hasnt seemed to help. More often than not I have been giving up whatever cache search Im looking at to try later on. Can anyone tell me why this is happening or what can be done about it please?
  13. This is a known issue and we hope to have it corrected for the next release. Please don't do that. I believe this behavior have changed back and forth in other releases ending with the way it is now. Moun10Bike, could you look into the history of the way this works before changing it again. The logic behind it being if you log your caches from a multi-day trip then you only have to change the date once for each day of the trip that you found caches on. Otherwise you would have to change the date for each and every cache that you log. I prefer the way it is sticky now, it's probably handled by a cookie that times out in a mater of hours or only works in the current session. ProsperoDK/René Yes don't do anyting! you don't realize the benefit of it keeping the last date. You just have to pay attention. When logging large numbers of caches, and logging them late like I have a bad habbit of doing, this is a real life saver! yes, it is session based in the current browser. Why not try closing your broswer each time you log a cache, that will fix your problem, but will induce a lot more clicks and key strokes than it takes to just change the date. "Freeze, Step away from the keyboard" MR Guys, I had not logged any other caches that day. This was on the first cache I logged, and it gave me an incorrect default date. I pulled up the gc site, pulled up the cache page and got the previous day's date as the default date for the first cache I was logging. Please do not misunderstand what happened. Like you, I like it when it stays with whatever date I logged my first cache of the logging session on, but that isnt what happened in the case I reported.
  14. Ive met a lot out on the trail. Seems like any day we search for a half dozen or so we will see another cacher.
  15. Apparently I have another bug to report. Amazing since Im not uber tech savvy like you all are. I went to log a cache we found on Wed Jan 20th. It is after midnight and officially Jan 21. All previous times Ive logged caches after midnight, the date shows the next day's date and I have to manually change the date. Tonight it didnt do that. The default date when I went to log my cache showed up as yesterday's date even thought it was after midnight. This is not something the site has ever done before. I did not post any other logs so that isnt why the default date was the 20th. If it matters, I have WinXP and Firefox.
  16. Thanks for the repeat - I did in fact miss your original post! Assuming you are talking about http://www.geocaching.com/calendar/, I am unable to repro. For example, I'll go back to November, click on the 7th, and get a proper list of events that were held on that date beginning with "HHE2009 -- Oorlog en Vrede by IJskimo (GC1X2P2)". Do you continue to see internal server errors with these steps? If not, do you know specifically what steps you took to get the errors? Thanks! Hi Moun10Bike. I should have mentioned which calendar. I was referring to the small one located in the upper right on the Your Geocaching Details page. It seems to work when you view a day less than a month old but beyond a month, it returns the 500 error. Editing to add that the event calendar mentioned in your post works correctly. Actually I cant access even December 31, 2009 on that calendar. Might be a stupid question, but did you have any logs for that date? According to the calendar I do. When I clicked on the link, I got the internal server error.
  17. Im on it daily without any problems. I use WinXP and Firefox too. Could it be a cookie related issue? Clear your cache lately?

  19. I work in a cubicle... Chain yourself to his cubicle and bring donuts?
  20. It does seem a bit closer together like you see it. I would rather have the 0.7 than the 1.5 any day. I still dont like the excessive width but I can live with that now that the line spacing is fixed. Please consider making the logs any color but white. It blends in with the cache page and is still too much whiteness. Thank you.
  21. I cant get to the data well if I get a migraine after a couple of pages.
  22. I do hope you will consider the visual aspect of it. Having a white page, and then having white logs, is just too much white. It is painful to read the cache listings this way. My eyesight isnt even bad. I spend hours online each day and do not experience this glare at other sites.
  23. Since the update, Im getting less than half (and closer to less than one quarter) of emails from my owned caches and watchlist caches than I usually get. That tells me that people are not using the site as much. In Arizona, where its been a lovely 70-80° outside, that is definitely out of the norm.
