I think around here Geocacher's are only sold in finer pet shops.
The only other person (besides Sept. GGA meeting) I have met caching is Bravesfan (Hi Mom ) in Tenn.
I am her reason (excuse) for starting!

I have successfully downloaded the basemap from my MAP 330 using text file and Hyperterminal.
NOW I want to backup the Firmware from my unit so that I can edit the Lawyer Screen with My Meridian.
Ver 2.10 is not yet available so I don't want to tamper with mine until I back it up.
All help appreciated.

My Mom has been tagging along as well for a while. She finally got her own GPS and her own username (Hi Bravesfan). We went back to all the caches we did together and added a log for her. We logged together in the cache logs, so I feel she should be able to log them online. What say the jury?

I don't have a PDA but I was wondering if one's account could be set up to download only certain types of caches for EasyGPS? (Without having to go through all 450+/- caches and click each one.) For instance, only download 1-3.5 difficulty caches, no locationless, etc. Basically can I customize what I want to get without going through all the rest?
Thanks in advance!

Some of the Sam's Clubs still have the Magellan MAP 330x package. Has GPS with windshield mount, PC data/power cable, MapSend Streets cd rom, wrist strap. $179.95 last time I checked.

Recreational Equipment, Inc.
They are an internet store as well as having Brick and Mortar stores. I have seen them in Atlanta. Do a search and find the home page. From there you can search by zip code for local stores.

Sorry to hear of your (and Geocaching's) loss. I would like to think that she has now found the ULTIMATE virtual cache. May you find peace in the belief that she is no longer suffering but is rejoicing...

Add the Magellan MAP 330 to the "DO" list if one upgrades it to Firmware ver. 2.09.

You can download from Geocaching.com to EasyGPS.
Easy GPS will only do 25 at a time.
Take from EasyGPS to Geobuddy to merge over 25 files.
Open merged file with EasyGPS and transfer to GPS.
Transfer from GPS to MapSend database.

The easiest way is to download cache waypoints is EasyGPS from the Geocaching.com link. After installing EasyGPS, hook up PC to GPS with cable that came with your MAP 330x and it transfers to EasyGPS. From EasyGPS, download to GPS.
To enter MANUALLY:
Press and hold MARK/GOTO. Cursor up to NAME line and press ENTER. Type in the Numbers and Letters that ARE the cache description. Highlight OK and press enter.
Highlight LOCATION and press enter. Cursor up or down to change numbers. Press right arrow to go to next number. Press ENTER to go to Next line.
Press ENTER again.
Elevation is now highlighted. THIS IS OPTIONAL.
Change as you did LOCATION.
Enter will take you to Message. This also is optional. Input desired message. Highlight OK and
Press ENTER.
Highlight SAVE and press ENTER.
Waypoint is now stored in GPS Database under USER.

Why can't you post to this forum if you give a link to N*A*V*I*C*A*C*H*E* with useful information to share?

Is there anyway to pull the POI files from the DeLorme SA 8.0 disc to put into Geobuddy or EasyGPS? I have tried the DataSave free trial from Thales/Magellan and the rate of refresh is annoying to me. I really don't want to part with $35.00 for DataSend CD-ROM when I find it annoying and SA 8 is paid for! I am using a MAP 330 with latest upgrades.
