  1. 1. When people post pictures, either in the log or on social media, that give too much away about the cache. 2. When the GPS is purposely misleading.
  2. Yes I'd be glad to trade the 31 souvenirs in for one nicely designed one for the whole month. Would clean up the clutter on the souvenir page. Ditto
  3. It's hzoi's baby, but I'm sure he'll still accept the congratulations. And from me, also! I am not a streaker, but I find it interesting a long time, but not very active (in the past) cacher is going for the streak (The OP). Groundspeak has definitely generated interest. From what I've seen in my local fourm, and in some cache logs, I'd bet there are at least a dozen cachers/teams playing along in my area. Probably more than that, but that's how many *I* have noticed. sorry hzoi--Congrats Hzoi! That is a beautiful baby.
  4. That really sucks. I know that you must be very frustrated. Maybe, put out proxies for the ones that have gone missing.
  5. What irks me? People who think they are entitled to be notified if they are not going to be FTF on a cache. Part of the FTF side game is not knowing if you are first and feeling the rush hit you when you find out you are. I cannot understand how such self-entitlement can motivate a person to think that they must be placated by an immediate FTF log, lest they actually be disappointed if they come in second. So true! I use various listing sites for my caching pleasures. I sign the log of caches I find, but don't make any online entries (just not my thing). I track all my finds and such in GSAK. I don't play the FTF part of the game, but I have found a few that had no other signatures in the log (normally posted on other sites). A few years ago, I found a cache listed on another site which at the time wasn't cross posted on GC.com. About a week later the CO published on this site, probably not more than 2 or 3 hours after it was published I received an email from the next to find upset that I didn't log it online in a timely manner! He said he wouldn't have bothered to run out and look for it if he had known I had already found it! He then proceeded to accused me of cheating (being with the CO when it was placed) as the date on my signature was the week prior! :/ You know, if you are not going to log your finds, most of us cache owners appreciate at least a simple note, ("found your cache, everything's good"), when someone finds our caches. You can delete it afterwards if you wish. I could, but I won't. May I then suggest at least a "thank you for placing the cache" email to the CO if you don't want to log online, don't you think they deserve at least that for taking the time and trouble to place the cache in the first place? I do thank them in the cache logbook. Why should I duplicate that in an email? Some people who don't log caches on-line do it to steal TBs. If you aren't stealing or defacing, etc., you can do what you want. Even if you were stealing, etc., no one could do anything about it. It is just a game. We can't control the way anyone plays. However, it is a game that thrives, because people are considerate and, mostly, play by established norms. It, certainly, seems rude to find a cache and not let the CO know in a timely manner. The fun for the CO is getting the feedback on the cache. The CO won't see the log for months, sometimes a year or more. Sometimes the CO will never see the log, because the cache gets muggled, damaged or defaced in some way.
  6. Can I edit a cache to change a traditional cache to a multi cache or do I need to archive the original and create a new multi cache? Thanks, Linda Update: I just went into the edit mode, and it looks like that attribute cannot be changed. I think I have my answer. Thanks.
  7. I'm posting from my phone, and I can't find a way to search. I almost added an apology for not searching, but I figured people are free to ignore if they are tired of the topic.
  8. What is your experience with geocoin proxies? Do coin proxies get stolen at the same rate as coins? Do laminate proxies get dropped & logged or do people ignore or even steal them. Thanks.
  9. Need tips on etiquette Is it OK to put a TB that you've found in a cache that you have already visited? Is it OK to put one I've found in a cache that I own. In the area that I cache, most caches aren't big enough for a TB. If I wait to find a new cache big enough for a TB, it might be a while. Thanks.
  10. After you pressed goto cache, go to the compass. The compass screen tells you the distance to the cache.
  11. Thanks A-Team. That is the exact info I needed
  12. I would like to place a multi-stage cache. What are the rules for how close the different stages of the cache can be together? Do they need to be the same distance apart as any other caches? I have looked for these rules in the published info, but I think I just have missed them. Through my lurking, I get the impression that this info is published somewhere. Thanks.
