  6. soooo, on the way to geowoodstock III, i'll be traveling from kentucky through tennessee, arkansas, louisana, alabama to florida, then on the way back it'll be georgia, south carolina, north carolina and back to kentucky. what i'm wondering is, if you had to list 5 'must do' caches for the following cities or areas, what would they be? please keep in mind i'll be on a fairly tight schedule, so no 13-leg multis, and i would love to see historic spots, local scenery, etc - or just really neat caches - also, meeting up with other geocaching folk is always cool! the areas i plan on hitting are: owensboro, ky clarksville, tn nashville, tn memphis, tn little rock, ar monroe, la jackson, ms mobile, al pensacola, fl tallahassee, fl (geowoodstock in jacksonville) savannah, ga atlanta, ga columbia, sc charlotte, nc i would appreciate any reccomendations on what caches to check out - i'm really looking forward to this road trip - any help would be great! thanks! jenn

  12. my ex husband and i had just separated and i knew i was going to have to find new things to do to get me out of the house - so i looked up outdoors activites locally and came across http://www.kywilderness.com there happened to be an article or a post of the forum about geocaching and i was hooked - ordered the GPS that day, and had my first cache under my belt two weeks later. i just hit 1000 caches yesterday and still goin strong! =) 'neko the white diamond pirates

  17. keep a lookout for the Geocky winter event coming up in early december. (i believe it will be on the 12th ) quite possibly breakfast in lexington followed by a day of caching, both new and established caches. 'neko the white diamond pirates
  18. lots of cachers in the elizabethtown area - check out the forum at www.geocky.org 'neko
  19. well, outside of the few richmond caches (2?) - i would suggest a trip to lexington (just a few minutes by North I-75) - also, check out the website for the local caching group there: www.geocky.org it will really depend how long you are staying, and how much time you can devote to caching =) 'neko the white diamond pirates lexington, ky
  20. Joe... you da man! I have to say it was a blast - i didn't think i was going to make it, but decided at the very last minute to make some changes in my schedule to be there, and am very glad i did - i didn't pull down an insane number of caches this time, but took my sweet time driving down (while caching, of course) and back (still caching, of course) and spent my 'free' time (not at the event) caching too. it was nice to be back in nashville, had a chance to be first to find on LSUmonicas first cache (nice job again monica, btw *G*) and got to meet a whole slew of new cachers, (not everyone, though, unfortunately) and got to see some old friends, too!! (was surprised they remembered me from my last trip...) thanks again, to EVERYONE (sponsers included) who put on a fabulous event - it looks like i'll be moving 'back home' to massachusetts this february, so i'll have to make a special trip out to wherever #3 is held next year - but before that, i plan on hitting 1000 before the big move - so keep you eyes open for a celebration in lexington - i expect everyone to show up! *laughs* jenn (cap'n 'neko) the white diamond pirates lexington, ky
