  1. Geocaching.com might as well make the whole site PAID. I have been a member since 02 it was started as a free fun game, now any cache over 1/1 difficulty is not available to no premium members which only leave 3 or 4 in a 10 mile radius of home. so you might as well just charge everyone to use your site now.
  2. Ok 75 to 80% was a little high. out of the first 3 pages from home coords there are 23 of 60 MOC's for 38% MOC's but since it is more recent issue taking out all caches placed over 4 years ago the percent goes to 49% 23 of 47. So yea in some areas it is becoming more of a members only game.
  3. I used to be a premium member but due to cost i had to stop it. My concern is almost all new caches being placed are member only caches. I know the membership keeps the site going but when 75 to 80% of the caches from your home coords are member only, its turning into a pay to play activity. I would like to see a limited number of member caches per area, which the reviewer should be able to determine when activating the new cache. So either make it all pay or make some changes to make it a 50 50 activity.
  4. I know there are discussions on how many miles a bug has gone, but i would rather know how long one has been traveling and have been active in the last couple of months. It is real easy to fake the mileage on a bug but time is different. We have one Salmon the Bear that is still traveling over 5 years now. What about you?
  5. that would not really work as many users log the tbs into caches around the world to beef up the mileage. What i would like to see is a list of ones who have be traveling the longest amount of time and a minimum of like 5o cache visits.
  6. Target has a geko 101 on sale for 78.00. Not bad for a good basic gps. quote:Originally posted by High Desert Fish:I thought I saw a post about people selling used GPSs when they upgrade. Was I wrong? Also does anyone know of ways other than ebay to get a used GPS? L

Which one? 101, 201 or 301? I'm currently on the road and mine isn't in my carry-on. I hope it's waiting for me back home Otherwise it's time to get a new one.
  8. Hello, I'm not sure if asking for help defeats the game...but I borrowed a friend's GPS to try to find a cache...I got to within "0 ft" of it...and I still couldn't find it!! I read the logs, and it sounds like it is fairly obvious...I don't know if the GPS in inaccurate, user error...or is it possible the cache got stolen? Or do I need new glasses? Since it's my first cache, I'm not even sure what i'm looking for. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=32932 Thanks for the help! Kittypie
