  1. I have a Legend that I used for bikepacking in Montana and caching. It only has one map page. If you have a map from your home area in Mapsource downloaded and you wish to add another map or mapset it will erase the home area maps automatically. I had to download the entire Greatdivide bike route topos from Mapsource at one time to get them in the Legend. I think there were 14 topos . I do not know how you could have 2 sets of maps in at the same time. I am upgrading to the Garmin 60cs (56MB downloadable memory) for my bikepacking and will use the Legend (8MB downloadable memory) just for caching. The Legend just does not have enough memory for all the topos on my next trip. Ride On!
  2. I saw what appeared to be a Garmin Vista unit (it was yellow)on Stargate SG1. This SciFi channel show was using it in a museum basement on some ancient Egyptian artifacts in a search for "Alien energy". Not the intended use for the gps but it looked good in the show.
  3. Can the home page have a seperate search link for benchmarks? Can the search link take you to a seperate search page for benchmarks simular to the hide and seek a cache page?
  4. Faderaven; Please stay out of the desert. You'll probably not survive. A gallon of water may only last a few hours. If you are in the desert at 90 deg.F with no water you die in 7 days, when not moving. If you have 1 gal. You die in 10.5 days. Take all you can carry you won't regret it, unless you get snakebit....

  6. I was on my first search and found some cremains, I was so excited at making my first find as I dug it out of this tree. Later I found the cache.

Thanks for clearing up the negative longitude problem. How about the route profile program from topos? Well I'm of to move to China.

Hi, I am new to GPS and Geocaching. I have a Garmin Legend and the mapsource cd's. I find that the co-ordinates from the Mapsource do not correspond to the GPS reading. Is there any fix? I went to the map source suggested by geocaching.com and input co-ordinates and was put into China! Is it me or what? Am also looking for topo program that puts route profiles together. Thanks for any help.
