  1. We have found a few caches during hunting season. We usually go searching on Sundays, (There shouldn't be anyone hunting on Sundays in Maine) as well as wearing blaze orange vests.
  2. We have used our kayaks, 2 old Wilderness Systems Rascals, as well as a Wellcraft Fisherman 18.
  3. I received my Eagle Scout Award in 1994, was a Brotherhood OA member, and went to the 1993 National jamboree at fort AP Hill. I haven't been involved in scouting for a long time though, I do miss it.
  4. Systems Administrator and Librarian, respectively. [This message was edited by Rabbit and Turtle on September 30, 2003 at 12:43 PM.]
  5. I'd like to see what mine would look like carved into a hiking staff!
  6. My favorite snacks for hiking are harvest powerbars. I also sometimes take along homemade jerky or gorp,
  7. "Are you going to bark all day, little doggie, or are you going to bite?" -Resevoir dogs. Good one!
  8. just testing the new avatar...
  9. The 310 does support a computer cable, but you must order it seperately from the unit. However, the 310 does only report degrees to two decimal places instead of the more accurate three, which I have found to be it's greatest drawback.
  10. It's unfortunate, but true that many people/organizations view geocaching as a high impact activity. I was recently denied permission to place a cache in a Nature Conservancy preserve, becuase of concerns about "trampling" I guess they don't factor in the good effects of geocachers visiting these areas, ie litter cleanup and increased opportunities for membership and contributions.
  11. I use www.maptech.com and Microsofts Terraserver for topo maps... Both are accurate and easy to use.
