  1. I literally JUST installed my Invisible shields on my IPOD video and my 60CSx last week. They are phenominal!! Definately one of the best investments I've ever made. After putting the one on my IPOD, I did the "install" on my GPSr. I actually found it easier to work with the more of the solution I sprayed on. Great products, though....reccomend HIGHLY.
  2. Thanks for the help, Klatch. So, if I do have City Navigator 2008, is it supposd to be working on it's own? I realize I might be looking a gift horse in the mouth, but I really want to understand this, and from everthing I've read on these forums, 2008 is an update to v8, and not its own program. Am I wrong? Also, I've adjusted all the settings I can think of to try to get a more sensible route out of MapSource, but to no avail. Any other insight? Thanks.
  3. Okay.....I just got my 60CSx two weeks ago, and my Map Source DVD today.....I'm trying to put this all together, but I'm confused about a few things: 1) How do I know what version of software my GPSr is running? I see a thread here about updating, but how do I know if I need it? 2) I ordered what I thought was City Navigator v8, but now that it's installed, I think it might be 2008. The back of the case says "MapSource- City Navigator North America 2008", and my "map product" box in my Map Source program says "City Navigator North America 2008". Did I get 2008, not v8? If so, I thought I read on here that: A)2008 is an update, not a stand alone product, and B: 60CSx was having problems with 2008? Either way, what I have installed is seeming to work just fine on my computer and GPSr, with one small exception, that brings me to my next point: 3) Why does this program suggest some of the most ridiculous routes from one point to another? Example: San Antonio, TX to Junction, TX......straight shot up I-10. Google maps list this as the shortest/fastest route, at 115 miles and 1:43 drive time. Mapsource gives me a route that is 163 miles and 2:23 drive time. What gives? Other than those issues, I'm happy as a pig in mud, and I love the 60CSx (especially after comming from an old GPS III+). I've ordered a used Palm M515 off eBay and am looking forward to going paperless! Any help or insight concerning my questions would be appreciated.
  4. I have a Coleman brand waist-pack. It is the Exponent series Lumbar Pack. The great thing about it is that it is big enough to hold your GPSr, swag, first-aid items, a granola bar or two, and anything else you might need. Also comes with a shoulder strap if you don't want to wear it on your waist. Unfortunately, I think it was recently discontinued, but you may still be able to find one if you contact one of the Coleman Factory Outlet stores. (pretty affordable....20 bucks or so.)
  5. Thanks for all the great feedback. I now feel confidant that I've made the right decision, and I'll move forward without anymore second thoughts! Hope to run into some of ya'll on the trails!
  6. I am relatively new to the geocaching thing, but the time I have spent doing it in the last year or so, I've found to be incredibly enjoyable and addictive. I started out with an old GPSIII+ a friend gave me for free. It served it's purpose of getting me hopelessly hooked on GPSr usage, but I wanted more. Yesterday, I ordered my new 60CSx from PCNation (no tax, free shipping, out the door for $328). I am wondering now, however, if I have made a mistake and spent more than I had to when I could have most likely gotten the Vista HCx for cheaper. Have I made the right choice? Would it have been wiser to have shopped around for a deal on a Vista HCx? Are there any real differences between the two besides screen size and battery life? Those were the only 2 differences I saw from looking on Garmin's site...... Any opinions appreciated.
