  1. Well then I guess we're stuck at he said, she said. Maybe we'll never know for sure. Someone stepped forward on another site and I accepted it at face value. It sure is an interesting study of human nature to watch how fast people are to rush to judgement and point fingers at one another. No hidden message there....it's just interesting, and amusing, to sit back and watch some days
  2. I didn't even bother to read all 10 pages of the previous thread, but from what I did see none of the people who were fingered as possible suspects are the person who has stepped forward.
  3. Not trying to start the entire debate again.....but for those that are interested MadMarty outed himself this morning. You'll have to figure out where to find the info yourselves......nuff said.
  4. Cool!!!! Thanks for the update.
  5. I know it's been said before but how can they study the impacts of geocaching when all physical caches are removed from the parks. The fact that they are calling it an interim policy is really to try and appease people until it's renamed as the official policy. Being a bureaucrat myself I fully understand and appreciate the regulations and the constraints that these people are working within. However, I must say that it appears to me that facts and figures were not confirmed before the basis of this policy was established. I'd be very interested to know just how much investigation and background research was put in before these decisions were made. I would like to be proven wrong but I suspect that this was simply a case of assuming that there was a problem and reacting accordingly without checking the facts. If we want to see any action we need to be vocal about it. Contact your MP's - perhaps submit and F.O.I. request to find out how much background work really was done. I really doubt that once caches are removed that we'll ever be allowed to put them back. And for all those that will argue that there are plenty of other places to hide a cache...yes you are correct, but it's not about that. This is a much bigger issue than hiding tupperware in a bush.
  6. I stopped by the cache tonight and I'm sad to report that Harry is not there. It's possible that a new cacher grabbed him and doesn't know how to log it properly.
  7. Oops, I totally forgot.....this is me reminding myself
  8. I'll try to get out there in the next day or two and grab it for you.
  9. What kind of marker was it that you found? There are a number of different sites where you can search for the various types of markers, but nowhere to log them as finds yet - other than the few locationless cache ones.
  10. Many thanks to everyone who offered to help out. And especially to Sluggo who went and found it for us. If everyone is interested I'll post some info on what it was all about when we're finished next week
  11. Not right now - but I read not too long ago that Jeremy was working on adding Canadian Benchmarks.
  12. Thanks Doc.....I share your thoughts. I hope that we're able to be involved in any discussion that takes place. If you need any assistance, don't hesitate to ask.
  13. No one has attacked the BCGA. I am a former Director, I let my name stand again for nomination (I believe I was the only one who made this known prior to the AGM), my proxy was exercised and present at the meeting. I'm asking questions, and as Gorak stated, my questions are of interest to all the members of BCGA. Stop trying to take your personal fight up in this thread.
  14. There is nothing underhanded going on here. I'm trying to get answers to our questions in the forum that I have been directed to. You are the one throwing accusations here. Last I checked you were not even a member of the BCGA so please keep your personal opinions out of this and allow the thread to remain on topic. I'm simply looking for some information from the new board members.
  15. I am not trying to stir up trouble. I'm a paying member and I'm asking a valid question because I can't ask it anywhere else. While I'm at it - I'd like some information on what the new boards platform is and how they propose to deal with the Parks Canada and Parks BC issues.

Unfortunately I was not able to make the AGM. I understand that these forums are now to be the official communication tool for the BCGA....not sure how Geocaching.com feels about that. Will the minutes and financial statements be posted here for all to see?
  17. Sure - it's part of a cache related contest which is not listed on this site. It involves finding a series of clues which eventually lead to a final location. This particular contest started on Vancouver Island, then it lead to several locations in Utah - we have some people down there working on those clues. From the last position in Utah we had to do a projection which leads to Benton City. Somewhere in Benton City is a grave site for Tony Gonzalez - we need a photo of the grave and an accurate waypoint. Then from that waypoint we have to do another projection to locate the next clue in Utah. Our Utah partners are ready to head out next weekend, but we need an accurate waypoint for the grave to know where to send them. Unfortunately time is running out as this contest ends on June 1st. If we're able to complete the tasks we get $500 which will be split up according to how much work everyone did. If you're interested let me know.....
  18. Thanks for the offer - unfortunately time is off the essence and I need the info by this coming weekend.
  19. Sorry to keep bugging my friends to the south - I'm trying to locate a grave site that is in or around Benton City, Washington. The grave belongs to Tony Gonzalez and it is supposed to be well known to the locals. I require a picture of the grave as well as an accurate waypoint. If someone is willing to help I'll gladly pay you $50 for your troubles.....I'd go myself but I live in Victoria and with the cost of the ferries etc. it makes more sense to see if I can find someone to help me. If you're interested, please get in touch. Time is a bit of an issue so I'm hoping that someone in the area would be willing to help out. Thanks.......
  20. Bump - don't make me drive all the way down there, lol
  21. Thanks for the info - the name of the person is Tony Gonzalez
  22. I'm trying to establish the position of a grave site in or around Benton City Washington. The person and the site is said to be well known to the locals. I'd like to get an accurate position for the grave as well as a digital pic of the grave site. If you can help out please get in touch....thanks.
  23. Yup - I just posted the answer in the other thread
  24. Yup - doing this from memory.... When you're looking at your waypoint list click on the Option Menu Button (the one to the left of the X button. This will give you a choice to delete waypoints by symbol, or I remember correctly you can delete all waypoints at once.
