  1. Could someone tell me if there is any way for Microsoft Streets and Trips to work with a Sony CLIE? I installed Microsoft ActiveSync on my computer, but then when it tried to detect my Sony, it couldn't find it. I don't know if this is because Sony is not a Microsoft driven PDA. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  3. I was able to get my stats button, but I must be missing something because I didn't see how to get it on my Profile Page Any help would be appreciated!!
  4. Instead of requesting a pocket query, can you just download 1 or 2 (or however many you chose) waypoints from geocaching.com and somehow get them into your Pocket PC? I tried it and saved the file as a gpx file, but it said it wasn't the correct format for spinner. Any ideas?
  5. Figured it out. I realized I had to delete the last line that said # (use s for space) Now that I've deleted it, What does that line mean anyway?
  6. Thanks for the responses. My default is %N. However, what I'm really trying to do is get the Waypoint Name in my GPS rather than the waypoint ID.. I probably didn't explain that in my original message. Thanks for any help
  7. I found the GPX Spinner icon, but when I click on it, it is opening in NotePad. I don't know where I am supposed to change it to %N so I can get my files to show the Name.
  8. I had found that, but I don't know how to change it there. Actually, it says gpx spinner.ini bak. When I click on it, it asks what program I want to open with. The only thing I could figure was note pad or word pad. But I don't know where/how to make changes. Am I opening it with the wrong file?
  9. How do I change it so when I use Spinner and then Plucker, I get the cache name and not the waypoint name? I read that it needs to say %N, but I don't know where I am supposed to do the change. Thanks for any help
  10. Got it figured out. Thanks to those who responded!!
  11. The last cache I did today shows I have done 192 caches. However, I have actually done 195. I know this is correct, because besides logging them on line, I also log them in a journal. I am unable to figure how why 3 are missing. My user name originally was Omiracler1, however, the ones I checked appear to have been switched to my newer user name. I did find that some caches that I found, are no longer listed on geocaching.com (Black Mountain Ramble and Carolina Disc's are 2 that I found missing) Could this be why my count is off? I know 3 missing logs isn't a big deal, but if it keeps happening, it could become one. Plus, I'm trying to find a nice cache for #200, but geocaching.coms count is off of mine. Any suggestions?? Thanks!!!
  12. just tried downloading the GPI data converter. It goes through unzipping and then it says "setup cannot continue because some system files are out of date. Click ok if you would like setup to update these files - then restart windows. I click okay and then it asks if I want to restart computer- After I click ok, I get a message that says install operation is not completed. If you shutdown now, temporary files may not be cleaned up. Any suggestions - I've been looking for a program that I can convert either from or two Mapsource. I spent a lot of time this am manually entering waypoints for an upcoming trip to West Virginia into Mapsource! Thanks
  13. Received my pocket query generated yesterday (received it at 12:33 am) Used Spinner and Plucker. When I view it on my PC, one of the caches shows a log from yesterday. However, when I put it on my Sony palm, the latest log is from Aug. 30 Any suggestions or can anyone explain this? Thanks
  14. I'd love to see it. I'm going to West Virginia in a few weeks- it would be great if I didn't have to figure out what caches were close to the route I'm driving. I'm using Mapsource but it's very time consuming to manually figure it out. I was in Maine this summer, and some of the caches that I thought would be close to my route, actually were out of the way. Would love to be able to do a pocket query and get this info!!
  15. I have Mapsource (which I'm just starting to learn how to do anything with). Is there a way to select maps, routes and download to your PDA? I keep looking but the only thing I've found was to export my map. But then I don't know what to do!! Thanks for any help.
  16. Thanks - Guess I should have figured that out!
  17. THANKS to everyone! I got it!! The problem was just what LilDevil said- I was missing a period!! Now I have one more question - what is a bearing-and how and why would I want an index from bearing? Thanks again
  18. Thanks for your responses. I think I'm still not getting it. I put # in front of the locations I didn't want, then added what I did want. I did this to the original relections.txt and then saved it. But I'm still not getting the info on my PDA. Am I supposed to change something in the template for bearings and distance? If so, I don't have a clue as to how to do that!! Thanks for any more advice you can give.
  19. Just downloaded GPX Spinner and Plucker.. I think it's great. However, I have a question on how to do something. I tried to do something with the Reflocations.txt. I thought I followed the directions, but I don't get anything. Here is what I did- I added the bottom line (starting with Asheville) to the RefLocations file that was in the directory. # Reference locations # Name, Latitude, Longitude, MaxDistance (optional) # # If you combine input files from two or more geographically # diverse areas, you can set the optional MaxDistance, and # each index will only include caches within that distance # from the given location. Roseville, 38.7517, -121.3094, 30 # Only include caches within 30 miles Fremont, N37 28.400, W 121 56.700, 25 # Only include caches within 25 miles Asheville, N35 38.166, W082 33348, 30 # Only include caches within 30. I then ran Plucker, and transferred to my PDA via Hotsync. I also tried creating a new file in the directory with the same info as above, named the file reflocations1.txt, but I left out Roseville and Fremont. I am under the impression that on the index page of my PDA, I will get something that says caches within 30 miles. I don't think I'm getting anything different than I originally had. I'm not very knowledgeable about programming, but I can follow directions (I think)!! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is another question about waypoints on the GPS. If I have downloaded 100 and want to delete some, but not all, do I have to do each one individually? Same thing for on my PDA Thanks for any help you can give

  21. Thanks for the response. I tried it and got the results in 6 minutes!!
  22. I just became a premium member and I figured out how to do pocket queries, but then I read this post and saw that you can get "immediate" results of your query. How do you do this? The only options I saw was to select which day of the week you want the query to run. I ran one last night, and it was in my email this morning. How do you get it within 15 minutes or so?? Thanks
  23. Don't know if you've been to Asheville yet, but I live here, and the fall color is almost non-exsistent. The past 2 weekends I went to Graveyard Fields and Max Patch (both higher elevations than Asheville) and there was still very little color. Still a great place to visit and lots of great caches in the area.
