  1. Still don't get it. I have it set for Cardinal Letters, True North. I do know how to switch to Magnetic, but don't know if I need to/should? If I leave it the way it is, I can change distance, but don't know what to do for bearing? If I want to change it to 1 tenth of a mile from another cache, and sixty nine degrees true, how do I do this? Thanks
  2. I'm using a Legend and having some problems projecting waypoints. I've done this before without a problem, so I'm thinking i have something set wrong, but I don't know. Here's what I do: Select a waypoint (at this point I see location, elevation, distance, bearing-- distance is in feet, bearing is S) I highlight the options menu, press the thumbstick to project waypoint (this is where I think I have a problem) Distance now says mi Bearing says 000 0t The 0 is over the t. I don't know what this means?! I thought I should be able to change to N,W,E, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  3. Think I am missing something: what does this mean:" Open your garmins home, or any wp you want to use?"
  4. The drive time zone is kind of interesting. You are right- it is probably more usefule because I am really looking for places that I can actually drive to within 60 minutes, not necessarily 60 miles. But, when I select "draw drive time zone behind roads" it only goes within 60 miles in one direction. When I select either both or just "fill drive time zone with solid color" it looks like it is going 60 minutes in all directions. Am I missing something?
  5. Thanks- that was easy enough! One more question- how do I change the color around the radius so I can see it more clearly?
  6. I want to find all cities within a radius of 60 miles from my home. How do I do this with either Mapsource or Streets & Trips? Looking for the easiest way. Thanks!
  7. Is there still a problem with pocket queries? Haven't gotten the one I was supposed to get yesterday, and am still waiting for today's (I know it is early, but I used to get them by now) Anyone know what is going on?
  8. I too seem to be having problems. Have 1 scheduled to run Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Got it Wednesday, but not Friday. Got one today at 12:13 pm. Don't know if that is yesterday's or today's. I have noticed that for about the last month or so, they have been coming much later in the day. Also, did not receive Weekly Cache Notification this week.
  9. I have been using Plucker for quite some time and am happy with it, but I have never figured out how to get the images! Can anyone help with this? Thanks
  10. You are nearly there The macro file LogCache.txt resides in the macro folder of the install folder of GSAK on your computer. So you will need to track down the path to where you installed GSAK (Just right click on the GSAK icon on your desktop and select Properties to see where GSAK is located. If you just selected the defaults when you installed GSAK then the path is "C:\Program Files\GSAK" so in this case the file name for your macro1 would be C:\Program Files\GSAK\Macros\LogCache.txt Got it --- Thanks. Just one more question--- I'm assuming (I know what happens when you assume) that now that I have filtered the caches I did the logs for offline, I just highlight one, hit my macro button, paste and submit. And, then do the same for each one individually?? This is a great program and I really appreciate all the support you give (especially to those who aren't that computer savvy!
  11. You can enter a whole days worth of cache logging offline then use the "semi automatic logging" feature to log your cahces when you get online. A a macro would help to make this process more automated (you still can't do the lot with just one click of a button) and GSAK even comes shipped with a very basic macro that will do this for you. So you don't really have to understand how to write a macro, just add a button with this macro to the tool bar. Now all you need to do is set a filter for the caches you logged offline, then you can click on the new button you just created to log thes caches online (all be it one at a time) For more information please see http://www.gsak.net/help/hs38020.htm I read the help file and think I understand, but how do I add a button for the macro that is supplied by GSAK? How do I enable that macro? Also I remember reading about this- but I can't find it any longer---- After exporting GSAK to html and then using Plucker to load into my PDA-- how to I get images to show up (like spoilers) in my PDA? Thanks for all your help! I'm doing something wrong but I don't know what.... I got ot Macro buttons configuration, Macro Button is called Macro 1, Button Text I made OL, Button description I put Log Cache, Macro File Name I put c:\gsak\macros\LogCache.txt Then I clicked SAVE. Is this the correct macro file name? I'm not sure what you meant when you said allocate the LogCache.txt file and configure the settings. I'm thinking what I just did above is what you meant. I then dragged the button to the toolbar. Then I entered the 5 caches I found today offline, got online, and selected the button that I created (OL) I get the following message: The macro file that you have allocated to this button does not exsist (may have been moved or deleted. The file this button is looking for is c:\gsak\macros\LogCache.txt Please help, Thanks!!
  12. okay, but how do you view them. They don't automatically show up
  13. Somwhere I read that if you are using GSAK and Plucker, there was something you could do so that you would be able to view images on your PDA. My understanding is that you would not have to use any other software. I can't find it anywhere. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

  15. Semi-automatic logging - I understand directions for logging one cache offline, but if I want to log more than one, do I have to create my own macro (which I don't have a clue how to do) or can I just log an entire days caches offline at once, and then somehow log them on line? Thanks!

  17. Much easier than it sounded!! Now, is there a way to see campgrounds in there - or state and/or national parks? Thanks!
  18. Thanks- I'll give it a try (sounds complicated!!)
  19. I'm looking at planning a trip within 5 hours driving time (Any Direction) from where I live. How do I determine this using either Streets & Trips 2004- or Mapsource? Thanks!
  20. Thanks Zack-Jones-- I'll try those points. Looks like there are quite a few caches downtown!! We'll try to hit as many as possible Do you live in Charleston? Southern Lit Primer looks like a really good cache- still trying to solve 3 of the clues.
  21. Okay, but I only understand part of it. What exactly are the points- are they rest stop mile markers or what? How do I enter them directly? Where on the screen do I enter them? You also said if I had it in a file, I could just load from file- how/where would I have gotten it in a file? I think I understand that if I had them in as CSV file, I could just load them- but, would I have manually entered them in an excel file and saved as a csv file? I guess most importantly, what are the points? Sorry I've asked so many questions - it's a great program and I'm really trying to learn it!! Thanks!
  22. I've read about this quite a bit- but I'm not certain it is available yet, and if so how to do it. I am traveling from Asheville, NC to Charleston, SC - all on Interstate 26. Is it possible to use points (in GSAK) to determine what caches are at rest stops or within .5 of the interstate. If this is possible, how do I do it? Thanks!
