I had a BLAST this past weekend! It was so nice to meet both of you! We spent three hours yesterday de-dusting the grocery getter It was worth every minute!! I have to say our little stock Xterra did pretty well! We need to get some KC lights or something for next year, just the headlights on the extreme parts were a little nutty!

You know, I used to feel the same way about Southern Nevadan's until I started caching, I was truly convinced there were no decent people that lived in Vegas. I would dread having to go down there for work.(Mainly because it is made up of mostly big city people who are always in a big friggin hurry to do anything and don't slow down long enough to actually smile)......Up until I started caching. I think caching brings out a certain common bond for everybody that does it, it brings out those of us who like to slow down and enjoy the scenery, you know, actually have a conversation with a complete stranger (other cachers )and not feel intimidated. I think I've met more random people in the last 12 months of doing this than I have in the last 8 years! It's almost like being a kid again.

Nice! I would love to find a job I could do primarily from home. And you will be closer to our events!

Hurm, any plans for Sunday after White Hill? None yet, I was planning on dropping in to S.Shore and at least log that I was at the ODL event. Hi Pirate Krew! I'll be participating in the GBES 4X4 Rally on Friday and Saturday, I'll probably make it to South Shore on Sunday, at least that is my plan. NevadaWolf and MooseMob should be up there most of Saturday, they are always fun to cache with . If your still around on Sunday, we can meet up. Are you aware of the White Hill event on Sunday?

Not being a huge fan of heights or hanging off of things, this would be a good tag along trip for you hisgrace1. I've done a lot of the caches around the lake (most of them with NevadaWolf ) and there is a great variety of caches up there. Especially a lot of different kinds of clever cammo jobs, it's amazing what some people come up with! And it is always fun to go in a group!

They can be anywhere, in trees, on bridges, in big Tufa Rock formations (thank you Geospyder ) I think personally I've found only 3-4 where you actually had to climb onto the tree. There is one in Reno where you have to walk a plank about 4' over some very nasty water. I wouldn't do it, thats where you get suckers like NevadaWolf to do your dirty work edited because I can't spell!

Welcome hisgrace1!!! Stuck on you pt.8 is a crazy one! If Ghoti is the one I am thinking of, I beleive that is one of Byjers "bigger" caches! You should definately try to make it to the White Hill event, as NevadaWolf said, it is pretty mellow and most geocachers that have been around a while are more than willing to help you out on anything you need. BTW, I found my very first cache one year ago today!!

We were in Carson City NV, looking for a cache in a rockpile in front of a pretty busy shopping center. There were three of us turning over every rock in the planter (stealth went right out the window on this one!) when a couple walked up and asked what we were doing. My friend pops off with "I'm looking for my earring" . The couple matter of factly says to us, "Oh we thought you were looking for a geocache, we've looked a few times and couldn't find it" then they walked off. Still don't know who they were as we know the cache owner, it wasn't him. About 5 minutes later we found the cache! Urrrrhhhhggggg! I hate rock piles!

I've been caching with John! Jodi, you poor, poor woman! I think we only cached for 3-4 hours and I was exhausted! I can hear it now! John: "Talk to me, where are we going? You didn't tell me to turn!" Holly: "Yes, I did, way before we got there" John: "Noooo, now we have to turn back" *Get's out of car at destination, John runs off, looking back at the bewildered and otherwise slow LostinReno and shouts* "Hurry up, we're burning daylight!!!"

99 is much better than I-5, they need to put some S turns in I-5 just for the heck of it! I'd swear someone drew a perfectly straight line down the length of the state and said "Put freeway here"!

There are lots of partying lakes in close proximity to GW6!

If it were in Phoenix, we'd still go!!! Southwest flights are pretty cheap but the drive is definately more interesting!

A lot of em moved to (erm, took over) Nevada (North and South) and we didn't have any water to begin with! Sac/Weatland is about 2 hours away. Wooot!

Whats wrong with northern California? Other than the obvious I'm just happy that it is in driving distance for a change! not sure what the obvious is, but its a 12+ hour drive for according to google. 12+ hours isn't that bad!! Plus look at all the caches that are on the way It was meant as California in general, too many people was what I was getting at. Nothing personal against the northern half of the state.

One of the airport shuttle buses would be hilarious, hmmm, I do know someone at the Eldorado I somehow suspect she doesn't have enough pull though !
