  1. My dog recently died and I had him cremated. We'd moved cross country and I'd like to get him back to Maine to be buried. I thought I'd basically make a travel bug of his urn and watch his progress east from the west coast in hopes someone would eventually bury him where I'd like (I'd place the coordinates on an engraved tag on the urn). The only problem I foresee is the size of the urn, about the size of a 1-liter soda bottle, maybe. I think it would be too large for most regular caches. I know some people think carrying ashes is a bit gruesome but these aree dog's ashes, not human. Thoughts on this? I had thought of having parts of his ashes put into smaller tokens and each sent to Maine and elsewhere to different spots too...his favorite places we've visited together. Any other ideas? Thanks!
  2. Correct. Moving caches are no longer allowed, however the TB option works quite well. See Uncle Elwyn. Sorry about your dog. SWEET..nice link. I'll have to read more on Uncle Elwyn. My dog's remains will remain contained so I can't imagine it being much "worse" than Uncle Elwyn. I do like the TB idea (could even fasten a TB to the metal urn). I hadn't thought of that. Would it be okay to provide a final destination though with a TB?
  3. Recently, my dog died. He travelled with me through most of these 50 states. I would like to return his ashes home to be buried at his favorite romping grounds on the East Coast of the US. I am currently on the west coast near Seattle. I won't be returning east for a long time, if ever. I thought maybe I could get my geocaching community involved - caching and moving his ashes ever eastward until someone can bury him for me and hopefully take a picture of his final resting place (along with coords) so I CAN go visit one day in the future if I do return. Does this seem feasible? I think it would certainly be a rather unique cache. I am aware that he could get lost/stolen/misplaced/damaged along the way. This doesn't bother me too much since he was a traveling dog. Perhaps it'll be someplace new for him to explore. I can probably get general coordinates of the final resting place with an alternate suggestion as well. Any ideas or comments?
