  1. We've had at least 2 of caches trashed by these people and a couple more are possibly missing. We've made our caches premium only as a temporary measure to protect them. It would be nice if we could pass information over to genuine cachers who want to find them and change the cache listing to let them log them. I might put a note on a couple of caches to see if it works.
  2. Now this is us - sorry Bambography's home for Christmas!! Thank you very much to our Secret Santa, I wish we could have thanked them directly, but the parcel came from 'The North Pole - Alaska' ( although the postmark said Abbotstown, PA) So whoever you are THANK YOU We found a lovely Christmas Stocking inside the box and waited until to look inside. It's a lovely coin for a good cause, thank you, and also for the dog & cat magnets. which included both Cassie & Misty, our cat, in the mission. Thanks again and also to Butterfly Lady for organising everything. Under the tree waiting for Christmas Day With all the lovely goodies and geocoin The Breath of Life Geocoin

  6. I had this proplem when I tried to update it on my laptop. Checking the list of scripts in 'Manage User Scripts', I found that I had several older versions still in there although not active. I uninstalled all of these, then installed the latest version and all was well. Check that you have uninstalled ALL previous versions. Thanks for replying 'Just Roger' I've uninstalled everything that mentions maps just to be sure and reinstalled, but still the same. I'm now hoping that Bambography, son Chris, can sort it when he's here next weekend. I'll give up until then. Thanks Linda
  7. I'm sorry Edgemaster, But I still can't get the OS maps. just the 'Tile cannot be displayed' message, I can view all the other map options, just not the OS openspace. I've uninstalled , reinstalled, severals times and don't know what else to try. I did see them briefly and spasmodically for one day, but not since. The other greasemonkey add-ons I use work ok. Do you do a duffers guide for totally helpless cachers like me? I really do miss the OS maps especially when everyone else says how easy it is to get in going. Thanks for any feedback Linda
  8. I still have trouble with the Image display. It works sometimes and not others. I'm trying to work out if it's connected with the route I take to the cache page. Last night I was setting out some new caches and I'd have OS maps on some windows & not on others. I had maps first thing this morning, but not for long and not at all now. Will let you know If I can work out when & what I do when they appear or not.
  9. Just had another look and the maps are there today. Brilliant, I have missed them. Lets hope it's not a fluke and they're gone again tomorrow. If it's anything you did Edgemaster then Thanks. But thanks anyway for the work you do, for cachers like me.
  10. Was it saying 'Tile cannot be displayed' by any chance? This happens when the site has outrun it's quota of images from the OS (currently this is set to 30,000 per day), the only option is to wait until midnight to use the main OS layer. I'll start monitoring the tile usage to see if I need to resolve the situation. It did, But Chris - Bambography installed after me and had no trouble, So I didn't think that would be the problem. Just tried again. 00.50 am and still no luck. Will look again tomorrow. Night Still the same this morning and I've updated Grease monkey in case that was the problem.
  11. I was thrilled to see the new script for OS maps. Not sure what I've done but it's not working and I can only see the 1940's maps and open street maps versions. I uninstalled the previous script and something else that mentioned maps (Didn't note the name) before installing. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but same result. Any idea what I'm doing wrong, Edgemaster? Bambography said his worked brilliantly straight away. Any help gratefully received.
  12. I was wondering i am realtivly new to geocaching (already addicted). i would love to talk to the scouts about geocaching but i dont think i am experienced enough yet. is there a way i can contact someone in my local area to talk to the scouts. (bearing in mind all the CRB, paper work ect.) Bambography (my son) lives in Basingstoke introduced us to Geocaching. He works with a Scout troop there and is currently taking out a warrant. I don't know if he could help you but he certainly won't mind if you email him through the site. I (Beavers leader) have laid small trails of micros containing the next location for the cubs at camp to introduce them to GPS and will do the same with the Beavers later this year. Good luck Linda
  13. We're coming with Bambography & Bambeanie. We're hoping to bring Licky as well. We've a folding camper (caravan bottom and canvas top) will this be allowed or will we need to go up the road to the next site ??
  14. <SNIP> Posting under the wrong account again!
  15. I have to agree with Dakar 4x4. The best series this year has to be GC15RGW 'The Curse of the Black Cat' It's a fairly new series but the work that must have gone into the planning and execution of this puzzle cache series richly deserves recognition. Well done and thanks to 'blindmouse' for all his hard work and for the many hours of fun we had completing the series.

  18. So it is done - garyhoney @7.58am! - with a very positive FTF log! Well done PP. This is actually BAMBOGRAPHY writing, just realised i'm logged in on my parents PC! - ops!
  19. I did, but forgot to comment. As previously mentioned we'll have to change the colours for Ireland. Also this series has been called the BIG QUEST. It'd be good to see a version of this logo with these points in mind.
  20. Bambography phoned to tell me about this. We're new to setting caches, but could place one in Northants if it's still available. Cassie's Crusaders
