  1. Perhaps you have found your calling for where to place caches? I don't think we need a new category for this, but that's just my take on the situation.
  2. All vvery valid points, and of course i would have used some common sense, more along the lines of helping clean out the amount of "abandoned" geocaches out there, Those were the ones i wanted to try and find. Ones where the CO has moved and never reclaimed the Cache.
  3. So no way to specifically send a query about them?
  4. So Ive wondered alot lately whats happened to all of these Archived caches. Im sure a ton of them are still out there. Is there a way to find where they are. Im sure it is a Newbie question. But damned if i can find out how.
  5. Thank you!!! Common sense!! Maybe not so much common sense. Google images of PVC pipe bombs and you will see plenty of them. Yeah because when that one psycho in your area blows one off, they come knocking down your door because of your search history... Thank you Common Sense!
  6. Looking forward to see what it is you are offering to the community!
  7. I would almost rather them leave it, at least it would return to nature, as for those bags... how many years are those petroleum byproducts going to prevent the decomposition of the animals' Business? Let alone the Littering caused by the improper disposal of them.... Well behaved animals off of a leash is ok, AS LONG AS THEY ARE TRAINED! I am an animal Lover but If i have a dog charging me acting hostile, I will not hesitate to defend myself. And I am sure I'm not the only one who feel this way. You have been warned.
  8. As someone who has seen GZ's that are completely trashed, I can understand your pain, GL in the future and happy GCing!
  9. Oooh, so Wet naps if you are wanting to be active in the CITO program.
  10. The other day when i was hiking to Mondos oven Roasts , i found a 2nd stage Horseshoe whiskey Flask from the late 1890's , Put a big grin on my face and a beautiful addition to my collection.
  11. I am quite interested in knowing what in the world u are on about...
  12. Hey, Its City owned and I have dealt with them in the past. As far as being able to remove the trash they are all for it, and willing to waive the dump fee associated with the removal of it. And very possibly with this being done by part of the Geocaching community will definately give us some bonus points on their next city meeting on where and what to allow as far as Geocache placement. Wish i could help down there in boulder on SAT, unfortunately i work 7 am - 10pm otherwise id be down there with gloves on and bags in hand! Edit: Its just outside of Idaho Springs, CO
  13. Welcome to the Caching hobby/sport/obsession I didnt even find the cache on my first outing, took me 2 more visits to find it, so your doing good! Congrats on first find, more to come i hope. Started about 2 weeks ago and i go on one of my days off and im up to 30 finds now, its quite addicting. GL and Happy Caching.
  14. As the others say, your judgement is key, Try not to give any specifics away, but taking a picture to hold the memory of a find for a long time is a great idea! If its Pertaining to specific containers tha twould give it away, just keep those pictures in a personal Gallery. I Geocache for the thrill of the hunt, if pictures give it away ... It loses its fun of the hunt. Happy Caching.
  15. Perhaps its time to invest the money you wanted to spend on an External antennae into a new GPS device... through research u can find a used one for under 100 bucks. Plus if you have a smart phone in the mean time you can always look up a GPS application on it to help u locate caches while you wait For a new one. GL and Happy Caching.
  16. So while finding a cache fairly local to me, i stumbled upon a large deposit of trash very very close to the Cache. Anyone in the area willing to help me clean the area up in the next few days? I am pretty sure i can get a dump fee waived, and i can provide the trailer to help pick up and transport the trash. Anyone here on the forums willing to donate an hr or something? Thanks in advance.
  17. Wipe it clean and start over? my best option id say.
  18. I dont believe what you said makes sense, Can you explain what your trying to accomplish a little better.
  19. Thanks for moving it, Hopefully I will be better at classifying my threads properly in the future.
  20. So as i read through these, alot of you put out very valid arguements on both side, I got a solution for you! Natural adhesives? If absolutely necessary to use. I.E. Sap etc etc. I guarentee a quick google search would help you hone in on the specific type you need to accomplish your goals... If its all natural, natural degredation will occur if as it was said further up about being aq good idea to "fall off" and/or require" Maintenance" and if it is natural, what could the possible Adverse affects be?. My two cents
  21. With all of these 10+ or so years worth of service some of these caches have, it makes me glad to know that its not just one generation, and this hobby will be around for a while!
  22. Believe it or not, but I have been designing a cache for my First ever, and when i do mine its a little door like this as well in the nook of a tree, except ive designed mine to be a piece of wood that simply, Snugged into the space available, cut to shap of course. and a door cut out of then remounted into the hole you just cut, therefore the hing hooks to the wood you brought in, and attatching it to the tree has no adverse affects I.E. Holes. hope that helps with your ideas! Happy Caching.
