  1. Hi Everyone!

I haven't posted on here for a while! I hope your all well!

I am hoping this year to cover a lot of Caches around the local area! Instead of buying Swag I was wondering is there anything I could maybe make? Or is there anything you have received that you really liked?

I sometimes think a lot of the things in these the caches are getting a little bit naff around our area and it would be nice to up the swag in them :)

    Any ideas would be appreciated!

    Thanks Everyone!

This is a great question, and I can't wait to see some responses. I like making my own swag also. Right now I'm working on magnets that say "not all who wander are lost."

  2. What is the basis for your assumption that they were taken by geocachers?

    Yep.

When we've seen "caches" that are on signs, in telephone poles, gates, etc, many times they get muggled by a muggle.

"What were those people doing, spending so much time staring at that (fillindablank)?".

Look, then shrug, or give it a pitch.

I'd say muggles too, as many today seem to like those things. :)

I know it's probably not the case with some caches (as with the reflector), but I always wonder if small animals might carry off caches very near to the ground or in trees or bushes. Or is it a myth that raccoons like little, shiny objects?

  3. Question: we've noticed the hiking trails in the Guadalupe Mountains don't have the painted markings like what we're used to back east. Most of the trails were obvious, but we did miss that one switchback. There was a stacked rocks zen thing there on that corner. Other hikers we met along the trail said that was to mark the turn. Again, we thought it had something to do with zen or inner peace. Do they also act as trail markers?

I've never seen or heard of that type of trail marker. I've been on trails well-marked, and I've been lost on trails not so well-marked. It's always an adventure!

  4. (FYI - I do have the paid app on my iPhone 4.) So when I'm on my laptop and find a cache that I want to send to my phone, I click on that option, and the next screen says it's sending ... but I never see it on my iPhone. Operator error I'm sure ... but any hints?
