  1. here in northern illinois we don't have any trail systems for atv's like most other states we have to ride on private land or atv parks, illinois takes a % of our sales tax from atv's and puts it a fund for trails the only public trails are for horses and bikes, they will give money to atv parks but there you have to pay to get in, so that is why i was wondering about caches with atv's
  2. Me and my family like to ride our atv's and like to go geocaching, I was wondering if there is any caches that are accesable with atv's so we can combine both. We live in illinois and go to wisconsin and missouri sometimes but would like to get a list of any in the us to maybe plan a vaction around it
  3. Has anybody seen this commerical. I saw it last night and only caught part of it . it has something to do with the movie Pirates Of The Carribean , they had said they hid or buried (I don't recall for sure) one of there vericals someplace and to go to a dealership to get a treasure map for it. Anybody here of this, is it for real? It seems everybody is picking up on "treasure hunts" now

  5. i just upgrade from a garmin legend to a garmin 60csx and it performs awesome under tree cover, my wife had the legend and i had the 60csx on our last outing and the legend kept losing sats and the 60csx never lost any sats the whole time probally spent 2hrs under dense trees, i bought mine at gpsdiscount for 500 with mapsource topo , a case and recargable battery kit otherwise you can get just the unit for 400
  6. i also looked up coords on topo and it looks like this would be a benchmark for the road elevation of 725 ft, if benchmark is right word still new to all this but did study some surving stuff for cad design hope this helps

  10. i was watching "10 greatest lost treasures" on one of the sat channels and geocaching was one of them looked it up on the internet talked it over with the family and every one was excited to try it ,next day went out and bought a gps (garmin lgend at walmart),that was a week ago now i am waiting on a garmin 60csx to get here so i can use it (the kids keep taking the gps when we go cachin)
  11. good swag - anything that puts a smile on my kids face (3,5,and 9 years old) this could be a lonely marble a single army man , a mcdonalds toy, a mardi gra style necklace , even a broken toy i am always surprised what they find iteresting , for me and my wife the swag is to see that smile on there face and them saying lets go find anthor one bad swag - no toys for them
  12. i also have a legend and from what i read if you dont live towards the east or west coat the was sats wont help since that is where they are i live in illinois and tried was and noticed less accurracy with it on ,try using it off i generally get a accurracy of 16 feet with it off in open areas
