  1. I think we need to be careful about broad statements involving the parks. Here in St. Paul, the park lands were never closed. They closed the buildings, zoo, and 3 parks near the Mississippi due to flooding. The TV news reported it a bit more broadly, which implied everything was closed. It was the same with the WI state parks, the crawler on the TV said WI parks were closed. Checking their website showed it was only some of the state parks, due to either crowding or excessive vandalism. Personally, before I head out to a park these days, I am checking the city / county / state website to check on their current status and making sure I know their current guidelines are. In Minnesota, there are still plenty of overlooked parks within 45 minutes of St Paul where I only pass 2 - 6 people in 3 - 4 hours of walking.
  2. Similar here. Chrome seems OK-ish (it still opens new tabs where it should be opening content in the same tab). Safari also seems OK-ish (it still opens new tabs where it should be opening content in the same tab). Firefox viewing my own profile opens blank tabs instead of content. Firefox viewing someone else's profile tries to display content but stalls out trying to load some element(s), resulting in a blank brown page (it's been spinning for several minutes now....) By clearing caches, I was able to Firefox to display my profile page and get most of it to work. However, I do not care for the fact that there is now no separation between the bars in my bar graphs and the tables do not have grid lines anymore. Makes it much tougher to view and read data.
  3. I use GeoBucket extensively on my iPad 2 (WiFi). A lot of times I will use this instead of visiting the Geocaching.com website if I am planning where to go and just want to see the caches I have loaded on my GPS. I looked at some of the others, but they haven't matched up with how I cache as well. I download my pocket queries, use it to plan trips, and bring the iPad with on the hunt to enter field notes which I upload when I get home. The only quibble I have is that it puts up a message when you try to zoom out to the point where it would have to show more than 1000 caches / waypoints. I used the free version of GeoBucket for about a year, just upgraded to the paid version last week to be able to get more map features and try out the cached maps. I certainly recommend getting the free version and playing around with it for a while.
  4. As of today, have been unable to view anything other than the first page of my bookmark lists. If I try to change the number of items to list per page, the number changes in the pulldown menu, but the number of items do not change. All of this was working fine through yesterday morning. When clicking on the page number at bottom, or using the Next button will refresh the screen, but it refreshes to the first screen and to the number of items that were set in the list when I first entered Geocaching > Bookmark Lists > View Bookmark List. Running Mac OS X 10.6 on Intel MacBook, 2 GHz & 2 GB RAM. Have tried this in FireFox 3.5.1 and Safari 4.0.3, same results on both browsers.
  5. There are two Mac apps I use for all that I need. The first is GeoJournal for my logging, organizing search lists, and exporting to my Palm. It has a GPX export, but I have not used that since I use CacheMate on my Palm. This is from www.geoingenuity.com and costs $25. For the statistics and pretty web pages, I use GCStatistic from MacDefender. It works very well with 10.5, a little quirky in 10.6. In 10.6, I have to export the html and open in Firefox to view the results. Not bad for DonationWare, since you can pay what you think it is worth.
