  1. I can't believe it. No one has even mentioned listening to satellite radio! If my GeoTunes CD isn't playing, my XM is. Another good Who tune is "Going Mobile".
  2. I think most of us got into Geocaching because at heart we're gadget freaks and a GPSr is another cool gadget. FRS quite clearly falls into that catagory of cool gadgets. I add mine to my ever-expanding Bat Utility Belt, which includes a Palm Tungsten, FRS, Cell Phone, and portable microwave for trail popcorn. (just kidding on that last one.)
  3. Generally, this is my opinion while actually on the trail. However, I gots to have tunes in the car.
  4. Full lyrics to "Stand". Michael Stype must be one of those celebrity cachers mentioned in another thread... (chorus) Stand in the place where you live Now face North Think about direction Wonder why you haven't Now stand in the place where you work Now face West Think about the place where you live Wonder why you haven't before If you are confused, check with the sun Carry a compass to help you along Your feet are going to be on the ground Your head is there to move you around, so (repeat chorus) Your feet are going to be on the ground Your head is there to move you around If wishes were trees, the trees would be falling Listen to reason Season is calling (repeat chorus) If wishes were trees, the trees would be falling Listen to reason Reason is calling Your feet are going to be on the ground Your head is there to move you around So stand (stand) Now face North Think about direction Wonder why you haven't Now stand (stand) Now face West Think about the place where you live Wonder why you haven't (repeat chorus) Stand in the place where you are (now face North) Stand in the place where you are (now face West) Your feet are going to be on the ground (stand in the place where you are) Your head is there to move you around, so stand
  5. I remember the original music thread had some great suggestions... Stand - R.E. M. 'Stand in the place where you live, then look north..." Another good one, albeit obscure... "Left of Center" - Suzanne Vega and Joe Jackson I've burned a GeoCaching CD with my collection, and I don't remember if it has anything else that hasn't already been mentioned.
  6. Took my brother and his wife on their first hunt near Athens, Ga. While scrambling down a hill, she fell and broke an ankle. Being the trouper she was, she insisted that we go ahead and find the cache before hauling her out since we were so close. My brother threatened to trade her for something in the cache! Here's the link to the log... Squirrel Bridge GeoCasualty
  7. My only ritual is to play my collection of Geocaching Songs while in route. This list was discussed at length in another thread. (Current favs - Sheryl Crow, Everyday is a Winding Road & Dr. John, Right Place, Wrong Time.)
  8. I also had safety concerns about a particlar geocache. Even though this didn't get the results I would like to have seen, I would still do the same... 1. E-mail the cache owner directly. 2. After a week of not hearing from the owner, posting a comment on the cache page. My comment also got deleted. I would also welcome suggestions.
