I was really enjoying caching with my two grandsons and then they discovered GIRLS (they are now 16) Certainly Grandpa cannot compete with THAT ! and their new car. Difficult to cache alone. Then I discovered(Painfully) that I am allergec to Wasp and Bee stings. I now have to carry one of those stab-yourself-in-the-leg thingies for that. Not really sure how much chasing through the woods I need to do. Perhaps we need to establish a new type of cache for OLD FARTS like me. You know something that is accessable with a WALKER. My handle of OLDFRED is apt......I have cleared the advanced age of 66 Listen to ME fellow cachers............... .GETTING OLD AINT FOR SISSIES !

A pitiful ragged man enters a saloon in the old west. Walks accross the scarred wood floor to the long bar with the brass foot rail and the traditional spittoon at the end. He grabs a bottle from the bartender and takes a long pull. "dadgum MAN !" ,,,,,,,,,said the bartender."I only said to take ONE swallow from the spittoon. WHY did you drink it all ?" I only travel once a year so I haven't had any experience since 9-11. I have a Convention in Las Vegas in May and I would like to try some caching there.(Surely someone has cached a bunch of chips for us visitors !) any VEGAS cachers can pass along any tips. I guess trying to carry my StreetPilot in carry on luggage would not be advisable. But would It be O.K. in checked luggage since they now scan everything for bombs ? Hmmmm..Perhaps I will send it to myself via U.P.S., Hell, they would probably lose it. Perhaps some of you have some experience you can pass along. This may have been addressed in previous posts but I have not found any. Note to the forum police : this is my first topic so if I diddn't do it right.......be kind. OLDFRED

I haven't been in caching for very long but really enjoy it especially when I can get my daughter and her two boys to go with me. Unfourtunately, I own a Retail store and will have to let caching go untill after the Holiday season. Working seven days a week sorta takes the energy away from caching. Being over 62 helps too! Nobody has considered all the poor little Tuppers that have to die to produce the ware you want to use. I subscribed to support the site since I am having a ball with it. My grandkids love it also. I havent used any of the Member only things but The site is very good without them. OLDFRED's crew will be out again this weekend !

After reading everything posted on GPS units I had to decide between the GPS V and the Pilot. Boy am I happy with the Pilot. I went from Atlanta to Biloxi (had to donate to the casinos so they can stay open !) and the Pilot is INCREDABLE on a trip. Got back home and finally started casching and it works really well as a handheld unit. Anyone thinking about one won't go wrong if the price doesn't stop you. OLDFRED :rolleyes
