  1. hey I have a question for a lackey/Groundspeak. unimportant really for the most part, so I figured ill just post here instead of contacting directly
  2. Notification emails aren't sent to the email addresses attached to your account. They're sent to the email address you entered in each individual notification. If you want a notification to send to more than one email address, you'll need to set up a duplicate notification and direct it to the other email address. A bit inefficient, but that's how the site works right now. ok thanx I will try this its not that hard to set up another notification
  3. I have a gmail account and a cell phone (you can have an email sent via txt using certain "@t"codes - 443***2341@vtext.com for instance for Verizon numbers using it as an email address. I wanted notifications to be sent to my phone as I don't check gmail as much, and a txt is received instantly. (I set the phone as primary email) it works find, I actually got 7 notifications last night for published listings (I had to put my phone on vibrate though, since they came in from 12-4 in the morning! just a warning!), however I thought with two emails on my account it would be sent to both. is there anyway I can get these notifications sent to both "emails"????? if you want to know the different codes for each company, verizon, virgin mobile, etc (they have different endings), tell me and I will send them/post them to you. also, if you are a co, this might b a good thing as you can receive text messages instead of emails from cachers. Almost as if they had your number but couldn't call you, just text, HOW COOL IS THAT??? just put your phone on vibrate for texts (text messages are much more discreet during work/night time....just a suggestion!
  4. ok thanks I will try it
  5. ok your answers have been helpful, thanks for clearing this up. I don't really need hints, I like looking and if I cant find it I cant find it. I usually give up 3 or 4 times an wander away about 30 feet and then decide im not done haha and come back every time and usually make the find. just that 3 of the caches ive been to have been muggled, moved or carried away by natures forces and that's 3 of 10 in case your wondering ratio. thought it would be better to actually say where I looked (the 3 caches I was dead on to where they were) I saw something about calling premium members (I thought) on geocaching.com but thank you for your answers
  6. What is "it"? I sure hope that you didn't upgrade to premium based on the idea that you'd be able to call me at work, or at 3AM when I'm sleeping, because you couldn't find my cache. I work 2 so I wouldn't call you at work, although u might want to b up at 3 am talking to a stranger in the woods with a flashlight just kidding
  7. the map that you can filter is halfway useless half the time. sometimes only icons will load with no way to click on them, not even the name comes up when you move the mouse over. I hit refresh 20 times. the map on the actual cache page never shows up at all, just white. my home location will never save location or find me, again always white. also the decrypt button does not work half the time, I attribute this one to the computer im using (maybe) because the other computer has had it only not worked once and I use them alternating between the day. but it did still did not work once! also, but the direction and distance of the cache listings page seems to have disappeared completely over the past couple weeks???? also side note, filtering searches, would be so much better, say with pop down lists and such with different filter options such as difficulty and stuff(ask me for more info if your interested in knowing what I have to say)and I know you can mostly do this, but wouldn't it be better if it was on the actual cache listings page (or more options on the search page the one with bars for info).
  8. it says you can call cache owners with premium membership. I have premium membership, yet I have not figured this part out. say I was looking for a cache and needed a hint, or something? like I couldn't find one an emailed the co and he said he believes it has been moved, if I was on the fone with him this could have been sorted out easier, maybe with him not having to make a trip out to see if it is in the right location. how do you get numbers, or some people just don't have them on their profile? I have seen logs saying they have called the co for a hint so... also, if I searched a keyword, and then wanted to say filter the results to my state or country, can I do that? if not then it might be something to think about.
  9. would like to know if a gps is for sale in my area
  10. its not that its a bad gps...it seems if you move in a line or slow turns toward something it is fine. the problem im having is turning around/sharp turn and then another turn right after that sort of thing...like today it took me within 50 ft of the cache (accuracy was 25 ft) and 50 ft is close enough to where i can look at distance to waypoint and my direction to figure out where the cache is, but me being me this is a new gps and i wanted it to zero me in, every correction i made to get zeroed in put me farther away or in the wrong direction. the arrow kept jumping around and it wouldnt update my position very well (updated every 15 feet id say) i dnt think i will have a problem finding caches, i just thought it would b more accurate in finesse work...im thinking about buying a etrex 20(i have 30 days to return this 110) but i like the way this 110 is set up... i had also set it to beep at distance to waypoint at 30 ft (or something like that) and the past 2 caches where i tried finesse work and failed i ended up looking for it myself but the thing went off ten ft from the cache both times (it was swinging on a lanyard around my neck) i dont know how to explain that
  11. i bought the explorist 110 as of yesterday and took it caching today, two hides were fine...but wen i went to a hide i could not find before (my phone didnt have signal, reason i bought a gps) it would not show when i was moving until more than a minute after...it did track where i went once it did unfreeze..my trail looked like a dreamcatcher lol, very hard to find a cache even though it said accuracy was under 30 feet. i thought it was signal but reading here mebbe something else. it was also jumping me around i would go directly to the cache (unfrozen) and then it would move the arrow west of me, so i ended up going somewhere unintended to where it said before...to sum that last sentence up the arrow was jumping around even though i wasnt changing direction.
