  1. as far as i know this unit is very similar to the model 200 with the exception of the 210 is capable of uploading of waypoints from computer. And it has larger internal memory. Here is a side by side comparison of the 2 units - GPS comparison I have owned the 200 & found most of my caches with it & I think the 200 is very reliable and accurate. As a matter of fact my explorist 200 seems to be more accurate than my etrex legend 60cx. I would say if you are on a budget or have no need for all the fancy bells and whistles I would definitely go for the 210. If I would have waited to get it instead of the 200 I probably wouldnt have upgraded to the 60cx so quickly. Hope this helps... And I am sure someone with more info will chime in shortly.... P.S. If you do get a gps that has waypoint upload capabilities I recommend becoming a premium member just so you can create pocket queries....
  2. i watch caches close to my house that i have been to so i can see how active they are & to see if anyone had a more interesting time than i did finding it
  3. so far mine seems to be constant.. well at least i guess it is.. i did 9 caches in 2 days & on all 9 it was the same result comparing it to the explorist.... I do have it set for off road use, and waas turned on (of course i tried it with waas off & that was no help).... wonder if it has to due with me being down in florida ....lol maybe it doesnt like all the heat.. i will let you know if it for some strange reason gets better when i get back to North Carolina
  4. I have approximately the same problem.. upgraded from an explorist 200 to Legend Cx.. love the color screen & the autoroute... Went out caching with a friend that also has an explorist 200, everything was measuring the same until we were about 50-75 ft from ground zero of coordinates... I ended up about 30 ft from where he did... Next cache, same thing.... On the 3rd cache I fired up my explorist 200, and followed my Legend Cx to where it said ground zero was, once again my buddy wound up going a little different route i did (following his gps unit)... when i hit where the Legend said i should be I looked at my Explorist & it said I was 33 ft away from ground zero,.... went over to where my buddy was standing and my explorist said i was 5 ft away from zero, and my Legend said I was 43 ft away.... oh and the cache was about 2ft from where we were standing by using the Explorist... I would use the Legend to tell me how to get to the cache area, and then use the explorist to find the cache, but then i am back to inputting coordinates by hand......
  5. I dont know what they are really called, but I have a "jumbo sized" set of tweezers for those dreaded micros. I decided to get these after I reached in to grab a micro tube & instead of pulling out the tube, I pulled out a wasp nest.....

    Hi!

so can we accept the rats????
  8. i have been geocaching for a couple weeks now using the Explorist 200. I love it. Once you figure it out it is very easy to use & seems extremely accurate. The fact that I have to manually enter info does not bother me at all, since I am only entering a maximum of 5 locations at a time. My suggestion, make sure you turn the unit on & at least have it sitting on your dashboard on the way to the cache starting point. This way in case there is tree cover, as soon as you get there you can hop out & start searching. If not the little one (and probably you) will get impatient waiting. Have fun, be careful this is addicting & so far no cure.
  9. LOL.. yeah thats what everyone tells me, but when I buy toys I want them now...LOL I cant even wait for a 24 hr delivery.... I AM BAD.... Plus now I have something to upgrade to that isnt to expensive...LOL
  10. I just bought the explorist 200 from walmart.. they are the only option here in town & i did not want to wait for a GPS... It works great but I wish I would have driven the hour or 2 to circuit city, it gets old typing in the info, would be nice to have USB... but other than that, works great.. been within 5-10 ft of all caches so far
  11. thanks wimseyguy... I will check out the site
