  1. I've already asked a question about adopting caches but just to clarify. I have 5 caches near me where the owner has moved far away. The caches haven't been archived. I have the caches on my watch list in case anyone reports a DNF, log book problem etc. so I can maintain even though they're not officially my caches. So if I want these caches to become officially mine 1. I have to have the old caches archived 2. I have to create a new cache on the web site 3. I assume I can leave the old cache box in place but just replace the log book Questions 1. Can I keep the cache names the same? 2. Are they published as 'New' caches...because they're not really. 3. Can they be relogged by cachers who found the old cache? Thanks in Advance TLHM Those guidelines are for achived caches only. If you want to adopt a "live" cache then contact the cache owner and ask them if you can adopt it, if so they can arrange it there end and you will be sent an email asking if you accept, everything about the cache and page remains the same unless you change it. If the owner doedn't respond and a "needs maintenance" or "needs archiving" log appear then I believe there can be a forced adoption that is done through the mods (I'm sure someone will clarify this for me) []
  2. Thank you I wouldn't have noticed and would be missing out on the new caches as I had it pre-set to Jan 2008 (for my local ones)

  6. No she was called madelaine and the tb turned up today A large envolope arrived and in it was.... A rubbermade box??? and in that was... A log book, pen, a couple of swaps and.... My tb As well as some calling cards from th travel agent?? I don't think poor komodo boy has quite grasped the concept of TB's. I will be sending him a thankyou email and I'll have to set up a special cache using this box now A photo will be uploaded as soon as i have time (school run calling)
  7. Actually if you read their log then it's not so outrageous. They found the bug in the USA, which clearly wanted to stay in the UK, so they gave it to their fathers friend who lives in Ipswich (I'm guessing this person is connected with the travel agents where it was left), and maybe this person was in the USA at the time and coming back to the UK soon. It sounds like a pretty straighforward way to get the bug back in the UK quickly. Quickly in may sound but if you look when he actualy picked the tb up using the cache page log you will see that he has had it since the 14th April, he changed the log date on my tb page. so he kept my tb for 5 months then arranged for it to be taken to a place that i am suppossed to work out with cryptic clues and weird co-ords. If he really wanted to help he could have posted it to me (i did sugest this in an email back in may)
  8. QUOTE(MBFace @ Sep 26 2007, 06:20 PM) I went for N52º 06 22.24 E001º 06 41.96 which pointed me to the roof of a building. Since it appears to be on the village's main street and remembering the words of the clue I thought "travel agent". Sure enough there's one at 3 (Old) Ipswich Road, more or less spot on my version of the coords. Left inside the shop? http://www.travel-stop.co.uk/information/contact_us.htm MBF You are a star , it has indeed been left in this travel agents and they are going to post it to me. Thank you all for you help solving this. I would never have worked it out though the travel agents did put it in thier window so a cacher may have spotted it one day.
  9. I have done a large multi based on a television programme. the locations were where the programme had been fimed and had to be driven round. Personally i loved it and did it for my 100th cache, trying to find micro's would have spoilt it and if one went missing it would be a big dissapointment if someone had travelled especially for it. I say keep them as clue locations but make sure you inform people that they may need more time than usual and may need transport. if you want to read the logs about the cache i did they are here
  10. I Have a Tb Chat room buddy that was supposed to remain in the UK visiting members of the geochat chatroom, unfortunately the first cacher that moved him took him to America and eventually it has apparently returned to the UK but I don't know where, I received an email from the last cacher to have him which said "Hi Nutters your travel bug is now in England. I updated the travel bug log and gave you a hint." I then checked out the log which says this "The new location of your travel bug is 520622.24 N 0010641.96 E Here is a hint: If you're looking to travel away from the village go to this place to start your journey far and wide." With the help of the chat room we think it is located near Ipswich and the nearest caches are Hazel Hunt and Westerfield trig. Is there a cacher near that area that could check those caches out for me to see if it's there or is there a puzzle solver who could decipher this message. And Finally what gives this cacher the right to mess me about like this Somebody help me please Edited to correct terrible spelling

  18. When I leave tb's on my hols I attatch a note explaing that i not be able log this until ?? a date as I am away from home and so far I haven't had any probs, apart from one coin cos i forgot which cache i left it in DOH What really gets up my nose is rarely cachers fault but it's dog poo, one cache i did this week had a pile at every other step
  19. My girls love to find a box of "treasure" and love choosing what to swap, they are dissapointed if we go to a box and find broken or soiled toys. a badge, bouncy ball, mcD toy and they are thrilled. I always take things to trade even if I'm on my own as sometimes there are adult items too. I often look for special offers in the supermarkets for kids swaps and battery cases from 7dayshop for adults, I prefer boxes as I like to move tb's and coins about too and they are rarely in mico's. I too like the postcard idea
