  1. that is the most hypocritical post on this board... This poster has logged at least 6 of his own hides without posting a picture where required... He logged this one (without the required photo) and this one from more than a thousand miles away... Then there is this one and this one, two classics from a few thousand miles away... and your take on the Army Core Values? like Honor and Integrity?

  3. There is a great cache on Mt Princeton, come on up and log it!
  4. Incredible! I hiked 18 miles for 45 caches in MTRP, San Diego...
  5. This is a much better angle, well done! However, the coordinates still need to lead a cacher to an interesting area. Is that possible if this mine is closed to the public?.. food for thought.
  6. I concur, iff this additional level only includes additional (Find) requirements. The last thing we need is to encourage anyone else to place a gazillion LPC equivalent earthcaches...
  7. try emailing your local cache reviewer.
  8. That's great! (psst... you forgot to link the Switzerland Trail to some trail information...)
  9. I wouldnt go and find a cache that I adopt out - to me thats "cheating". Also, 3 caches in New Zealand were done by a Canadian, remotely, using the web and google earth..... Top notch EC's to. Can you post GC codes or links to these NZ EC's? What would be the point? - also, Im only going on hearsay. no pressure. I'm curious as to the quality of alleged EC's.

  11. This got me thinking. 1) I have a whole series here in South Africa, and would consider to share with anyone wanting an African cache. 2) If you let someone adopt one of your caches - can you find it? 3) What is the general consensus on this? Is it acceptable practice having a cache where you've never been? I doubt it's been done but... (similar to the exchange student scenario) It would be interesting to team up with another cacher from out of state/country to develop an earthcache at each location, then trade ownership. Caveats being: owners stay engaged with both earthcaches, other EC owner, and land owners. Thoughts?
  12. The salt mines should be re-invigorated! (if they haven't already...) Are you talking about Detroit Salt Mines GCNR7Z oops... thought that one missed the 'new guideline' cut. thanks! (...looking back over the geological history of Michigan) I was always told that ocean water once covered the state. Surely, there must be some other facinating remnants of this phenom exposed to the elements... somewhere?
  13. make it a 1.5 if a wheelchair can't get close enough while someone else could walk there unobstructed...
  14. Question about that... (not relating to a recent sore subject) I want to revive a couple that have been archived for over a year now. Did you get permission for purely etiquette reasons? It doesn't seem necessary...

  16. A couple of thoughts. Cav Scout has done nothing more than point out a potential problem. Neither you nor Cav Scout are the persons who can, or should look into it. Until others look into it, it's too soon to be lynching someon for an alledged issue. FIXED BELOW A couple of thoughts. You, Cav Scout, have done nothing more than point out a potential problem. 17. Another sock... thanks for your infinite wisdom.
  18. The biggest issue brought up in my OP concerned the type of photo "required" by a CO. I understand that a CO can require a photo with you and a GPSr in order to PROVE that you were physically at the posted coords. This prevents dishonest logging of the CO's hard work. However, when a CO demands that this picture include a cachers FACE, else their log gets deleted, I completely disagree. I have posted pictures of "myself", represented by just my hand holding a GPSr, the back of my head as I admire the feature in question, and my face with a GPSr. All those options should be legit. If GSA is going to allow CO's to require a picture to log their earthcaches, then they should step in and define this "optional" requirement. ...and that's my pitch
  19. That cache is in an awesome location! A few feet from the infamous Doc Holiday's grave! I'll post up in the local forums for you: http://geocachingcolo.com/GCCO/forums/default.aspx If no locals bite, you can adopt it to me. Something else you can try: scan the local area for the most frequent cache hiders, and email them individually.
  20. It's a bummer, but true. I lost the battle to create an EC at the Hoh Rain Forest a couple years back.
  21. Which cache is this? post links!
