  1. Hope this isn't a duplicate. I tried Fast Reply, and it went off into never-never land. I had installed Geocaching Live on my memory card. When I removed the card and installed it again on my phone it worked (briefly). Now I can't get it to load maps. I can see the nearby caches fine, but no maps. (It loaded them fine after the reinstallation for a week or so). Where does the Nokia keep the cache?
  2. In a previous installation I was able to download over 200 in one session, and I could keep them while downloading others. Today I can download only 5 at once, even though I'm a premium member, and I have to delete those 5 before I can download 5 more.
  3. I've upgraded my Geocaching.com membership to premium and it still won't download more than 5. And I need to delete those 5 to get 5 more. What now?
  4. We're a pair of Canadian geocachers who will be based in Izmir for the next 6 months or so. We'll be keeping an eye open for any caches in areas we visit.
  5. I actually paid money to get a premium membership so I could get batches of listings for both my GPS and my Palm. I update the local ones every week in active season, and download batches for areas I'll be visiting if I'm organized enough to think ahead. I like having them on my PDA because I tend to be an impulse cacher. I used to use printed sheets, but found them an awful waste of paper. I still print out a page if I know ahead of time that I'm going after a specific cache.
  6. Is there a cultural difference here? In Canada we use Tupperware containers or equivalent (I use plastic containers that used to hold the world's best cookie dough, sold only by the Rebecca's Lodge in Canmore, Alberta). Ten miles away in Idaho all the caches are ammo boxes. I don't even know what they look like, poor innocent Canadian that I am.
  7. I'm watching one cache close to home because there are problems with garbage in the area and I want to get help from the service club that's looking after that stretch of highway - gathering data to build a case. I'm watching three others that I haven't found yet to see if I can get more clues to help me next time I give them a try. So there are some of the reasons. I certainly don't mind the cache "owners" knowing that I'm watching, but I know there's a lot of concern about privacy these days and I guess the Geocaching.org people are just being careful.
  8. "Of course, it helps to know what that waypoint is (ie, a cache, a virtual, etc). It really helps to couple this with a file you download to a Palm-type device. So you find the nearest waypoints with your GPS, read about them with your Palm, pick your target and go!" I have a really dumb question - what do you use to download the cache info to your Palm?
