  1. Just an update as of January 2013 , that the website Geocachers of Eastern Ontario will be discontinued. Low traffic and cost have are the issue. The group known as GEO (Geocachers of Eastern Ontario) still exists and we invite interested cachers to join our Facebook Group. Geocachers of Eastern Ontario We have decided that the Facebook group is a more effective and fun way to communicate about our shared passion and it is "Free!!!" It adds the ability to quickly communicate events and other interesting news, photos and videos!! Hope you wwill check it out and join in the fun. Inkyfiller
  2. We invite cachers in Eastern Ontario to join us at http://www.geocachersofeasternontario.com GEO members have defined the area from Prescott east to the Quebec border, East from the border of the city of Ottawa, along the Ottawa river to Quebec.
  3. Thanks for the warning. This is another example of cachers helping cachers.
  4. I just received the same E mail from Magellan. I replied with a Thank you, and confirmed our Apr 24 date. Got a reply back from Magellan in 10 mins, saying prizes will be shipped our way in plenty of time!! Good luck to everyone else. Inkyfiller
  5. Just wanted to publicize our 1st CITO event. The Geocachers of eastern Ontario, have combined with the South Nation River Conservation Authority and are planning a CITO to help celebrate Earth week. One of our challenges has been the area we are planning to CITO. The South Nation river is over 85Km long and there are many Conservation Areas dotted along the river. What we are planning is a start at a central area, with a free breakfast of Pancakes & Maple syrup reflecting a taste of the watershed. Cachers will be handed a Work sheet which resembles a cache page directing them to the area to be CITO'd. (An unpublished cache ) will be included as an incentive. Folks will meet back at the start point and pictures will be taken. Our group will also be placing new caches in the area, so that folks can do some more caching after the CITO. We are then following up with a GEO Picnic later in the afternoon at another Conservation Authority area. Should be fun ! Inkyfiller Geocachers of eastern Ontario
  6. I too am organizing a CITO for the end of April.( To be published next week.) One of our group mentioned the Magellan Sponsorship and I have just spent 30 mins searching the link from Groundspeak. (Magellan's website). There is nothing there. Anywhere. So I Goggled CITO Sponsorship and our own forums was #1. Thanks for the copy of your reply from Magellan, I'd post mine when it arrives, but I suspect the "Customer Service" computer will spit out the same thing. Do you think Groundspeak will see this, or should we be sending them a message about - to get it fixed. Are they a sponsor or aren't they! Thanks for reading this rant. I've had 2 Maggies and actually thought the Customer Service was improving. Inkyfiller - Hawkesbury ON
