You can do this with a pocket query. Set one up to list the caches near you (use the "From origin" with your home coords or home zip code), and for "Placed during", select either "the last week" or "the last month", depending on how many you want to see. Clicking the "preview" button for this PQ will display the distances from your specified locations (nearest ones first).
Thanks for the answer. I do have pocket queries set up and that is a nice feature. Mainly, I want to see it daily. Pocket queries are set to come in weekly... that's OK, unless you would like to be obsessive like me and would love to get 1 FTF
Also, it would be nice if we were going to go on a drive (outside of my query range) to do a quick check. I know this is possible in other ways, I do them. I just thought there would be a simple solution to an issue that I found troublesome.
Thanks again,

This reply reflects a common misconception. Let me try to help get you to where you want to be.
When you create a pocket query, you can "preview" the results of the pocket query using the "nearest cache" page / search results page live on the Geocaching.com website. You do not need to order a GPX file or even check a day for it to run. So, click the "preview" link for a pocket query of new caches near your home area, and look at the results. Then, bookmark the URL for those query results. Return to it as often as you feel like checking for new caches. The search results will indicate the distance of each cache from the centerpoint coordinates.
Hope this helps.
The Leprechauns,
You rock. Thanks, those buttons have gone over looked by me... I will start using that feature more!
