  1. It doesn't work on my cheapo pre-paid Nokia. I get "memory full" when trying to view the page. I can still use wap.geocaching.com however. It does work on hubby's Blackberry 8830, so we can use that when we need to see a photo from the page. THANKS!!!

  4. My frustration with bookmarks is the reason that I no longer maintain or update a bookmark that I have. I would like to, but its annoying. I've found other ways to handle lists, but unfortunately, you can't share them that way. Please fix bookmarks.
  5. Then definitely follow briansnat's suggestion. Yes and forward a copy of the email from them stating they used Geocaching.com as a source. If I am reading this correctly, the person in question got the original poster's email address because the OP had written to them first. They saved the OP's address and are now spamming them. That is not an issue for the contact address. That is something the OP would have to deal with personally, either by working to get the point across that the other person needs to stop or by blocking their email address. Yes, you have it right. I contacted them first....AND LAST since they are now blocked. I have no plan to contact gc.com about it. Spamming them did cross my mind however. lol But I would never do it. I have thought about emailing them this thread though.
  6. OMG! Seriously?! That's scary & freaky. I have your # but you gave it to us (just incase you forget). You have ours too. Don't be passing it around.
  7. At GeoWoodstock VI, Hynr taught an Advanced GSAK class about polygons & filters. The PDF file is available in his profile. Save it. http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=66...aa-61022c9ab7fe After trying to learn it, I was happier to find the tool mentioned by jholly in post #4 above. Load you GSAK database with caches & just filter out to what you want.
  8. They know they are sending me emails. At first, I had emailed stating I didn't believe I knew who they were, might they have my address confused with someone else, & please remove my address. They replied stating connection was thru geocaching. The emails didn't stop. I just found which cacher it is. Just joined in August 2008. Political spam is what I get for congratulating someone on finding their first cache while finding one of ours. Great!
  9. Let me see if I can explain this one. Recently, while working on a puzzle that I was having trouble with, I asked another cacher if I was going in the right direction with solution. They said no & I needed to start all over. OK. While still working on puzzle, I picked up a little piece of info from a past log about a letterbox. It was the last log & it was about 6 months old, so I guess no one else used it to help them. Did a bunch of homework & finally found the 9 part letterbox series referred to. Well all it did for me was help me know what piece of land cache was on. Even from letterbox coordinates, there was no way to back into the puzzle coordinates to find the cache. You needed to solve the puzzle! I thought hey, as a very last resort months from now, I'll go letterboxing...and maybe stumble upon a cache. Only kidding of course. Finally solved the puzzle. Great puzzle too. Had a bit of difficulty getting GPS to locate cache & I had brought along letterbox info. Actually found a letterbox stage where GPS told us. Then used letterbox info to find cache. I told all this info to cache owner. At which point, the previous poster was asked to remove info about letterbox from 6 mth old last log....AND the cache was pulled & disabled. I felt like I did something wrong. I solved the puzzle as intended. And found the cache. Email from owner didn't sound annoyed or angry, but it was disabled immediately. I don't have any puzzle caches yet, but if I put out a really hard clever one, and someone was more clever than I in finding a loophole, I would say good for them. But that's me. This thread is helpful that I can now see that not all owners probably feel that way.
  10. I have to say yes to this one. Its not our fault that our rental car was following your rental car in CA for a few hours. We had no control over it. It was only 1 cache. (Is that like "I didn't inhale!" ??)
  11. If you obtain a geocachers email address thru caching related emails, do NOT start spamming them with political emails, junk emails, forward emails or any other crap. Thank you. Since the person won't stop as requested, they've been added to our blocked email list. From the list of names at the top of the email, looks like they are doing it to many others. Unfortunately, I don't seem to know which geocacher they are (yet), only that they got our email thru geocaching.
  12. You can always google their caching name followed by the word geocaching. That's how I do it because its just easier than finding the link. EX: wandering4cache geocaching Great thing is if they are also members of other caching message boards, you'll find them that way too.
  13. Thanks for the script. I spent better part of yesterday giving FF3 another try. The newest version (3.01) is working better for me than ver3 did. Installed several scripts & add-ons & all is good so far. One SMART thing I did was create a bookmark folder called Add-Ons & Scripts and saved the URLs where I got the scripts. Why? Because it contains the directions, tips & hints that are all being asked here. Now when I can't remember in a month, I can go look it up.
  14. Thank you for the PicLens addition. Please add profile galleries to it however.
  15. Thanks for reminding me that my old PDA has a voice recorder. About the only time I enter anything into Cachemate is when I swap a TB or discover. If I have the camera, I'll take photo of the TB# but voice will work great too. Thanks!
  16. From our emails, looks like the directions on this thread on post #7 didn't work then? http://www.1src.com/forums/showthread.php?t=125141 Did you try what was suggested in post #9? The person in post#8 has same model as you, SL10. I saw AFTER he posted on that thread, when someone else asked about SL10 on another thread, that he referred them there. I'm wondering if he got his to work? I'm still googling a bit for you. Biggest difference between my Vista working Sony Clie PEG-NX73V is I have PalmOS 5 & your Sony Clie SL10 is PalmOS 4.10. We pretty much had same hot sync versions.
  17. I just wanted to add for any one else the Sony Clie that is working with Vista (32 bit) is using Hot Sync Manager ver 4.1.0. Don't know if that's trouble others are having. Hope that helps someone out.
  18. I was thinking this very thing this morning. My dad will be becoming new owner of our 60cs very soon. He's a fisherman, not geocacher. I was thinking what software I was going to install for him to manage his fish waypoints. I'm thinking of looking at Garmin's Trip & Waypoint Manager that comes with MapSource City Select. We never installed it because we have GSAK too. But since he's getting our old City Select too, if it works, it will be an easy package for him. Other option, I was going to look at something like easy GPS. He's older & not as computer savy as us so it needs to be easy.
  19. 32-bit or 64-bit Vista? It makes a difference, you know. 32 bit. And know I didn't know. That's what I have hubby for. That's his department. I just use all the geeky toys.
  20. My Sony Clie PEG-NX73V/U that is for geocaching only charges & syncs via USB. I don't use cradle at all. Nice durable hard case PDA. Palm OS. I'm using it with a Windows Vista desktop with no problems. Bought from ebay over a year ago. I saw a nice one on there last night for "buy now" of about $111. (I was looking because of another post on another board & wanted to provide a link to them.) http://cgi.ebay.com/Excellent-Condition-So...tem280256310806 I run cachemate on mine & have had it for over a year. Sony Clies are long discontinued & no longer supported, but still desirable on ebay when I was buying mine last year. After losing several auctions, I sucked it up & just bought one by "buy now". When buying PDA on ebay, make sure you buy from someone who has photos of a working PDA. The actual PDA they are selling. Not stock images. Memory card is nice plus. Mine came with 2. I only needed 1.
  21. Found it myself. Its under your profile. Somehow, may things were changed in there. The box was unchecked. Time zone way off. Friends requests was turned off. Maybe in all the changes at end of July it went screwy too. I've changed it all back. Hopefully, I'll start receiving them again.
  22. And I didn't get one last week or one yet today. ??? I can't remember. Is this something I had to sign up for years ago or was it automatic with premium membership. Maybe it unregistered me for the email. Where do I check or sign up again?
  23. Maybe I missed something recently. Has the weekly notification email been discontinued? It seems a few weeks since I've seen one.
  24. Mine finally changed. I guess it just takes a while. ???
  25. Same problem here. I was able to update our Profile picture to a new photo from Yosemite. Updated our Forum avatar to be none currently. I can't find anything that looks ok at 75x75 pixels yet. However, the horrible short & squished photo of both of us standing still appears on home page. YUCK!!! We look like short fat midgets. Not that there's anything wrong with that. How do we change or remove the photo showing up on home page & on "my account" page? Hate looking at such a badly proportioned photo when it didn't used to look that way.
