  1. You live in the same city I do Eric? lol When you find the fame and fortune let me know.

The need to move my butt off a chair and get some fresh air is the main motivation although the desire to explore new areas and go places I've never been before is right up there too. Plus I like the feeling I get when I finally find a cache. []

  2. Like everyone else I would be very interested in seeing what you come up with. Along with the method and materials you used to do the minting. I've considered making my own but thats an area I know so little about i'm a bit hesitant to try...

  3. Hmmmmmm I didn't get a conflict. I managed to work it out in about 20 mins.

I guess the trades would be fair depending on what the coins were. I can think of some gold and silver coins that I would trade a keychain for and others that I wouldn't. Guess it would depend on your definition of fair.

  4. I can't see any reason now or in the future for me selling my collection. I got into collecting geocoins because it's a natural extension of my hobby collecting coins. As most have mentioned above I only buy coins that I think worthwhile and would prefer to trade for coins I want. I doubt that I'll ever feel the need to sell off my collection as I'm a bit of a packrat and keep things like that around just because. I would prefer to put them into caches and let others enjoy them before I sell them. My personal coin was just that, personal and if people like it then great. If they wanted to trade for it great. If they didn't that was ok too. Honestly I'm glad I never sold it as I think it means more to people when they trade for a coin they want than when they buy one.

  5. I had mine made up and split them between trading and dropping in caches. I don't like the idea of someone paying for something that I consider my personal item. If i drop it in a cache or trade it away then it's fair game. It's always nice to get the notes when someone actually finds one of my coins and drops me a line about it. :D

  6. Wow, am I one of a select few who actually activates every coin and then sends them into the world?

What good is a coin going to do ya sitting in a book somewhere?

I do like the idea of keeping a single personal coin and logging it at events and such. But why keep handfuls of coins in your desk drawer?

I guess it can be compared to a stamp collection or something. Personally I like the idea of all my coins being unactivated. It gives me the flexibility that if I ever do want to get rid of one then the new owner will be able to activate it himself. Yeah it seems silly just having them in a book and not activating them for the icons or something but it's just personal preference. I like the idea of having the collection.

  7. I'm just curious about other's experience. What is the biggest trade you have pulled with one person at one time?? (number of coins with 1 person at one time) I just mailed off a package with 11 different coins in it and will be getting 11 different coins in return. You just have to love a trade like that. :(
