  1. I was able to do that on the first one I edited but not the second. I did not realize that you could toggle the source button to show the code. got it. Thanks.
  2. I am trying to add a list of caches in a series to some existing caches of mine. The first one I did (GC6MQRE) the text in the description had html code <p> and gave me a paragraph break. I only wanted a line break so I researched how to do that and used <br> and got the list to look like I wanted it to look. The second one I edited (GC9CZ4N) the description did not have html code, just plain text. I pasted the list and saved it but it put paragraph breaks after each line in the list. How do I get a line break (no space between lines) instead of a paragraph break after each item in the description when the edit box does not show html? Or how can I get the text to show html when editing? (this line added in edit)
  3. I have not seen anyone claim they were working on moving up the stats in some area. I may have to check that out
  4. I have had that issue sporadically over the past few months. My work-around is to go online and give the fav point on the website on my phone. Never have figured out why that occurs.
  5. If I understand this correctly, you have a trackable in your possession that you do not own. You logged a find but forgot to have the trackable visit the cache. Now you want to go back and show a visit to the cache that you previously found. Is that correct? You could delete the found log for that cache and start over with a new log.
  6. I use the Geocaching App to have my trackables visit a cache when I forget to do so when logging my finds. If you look at your profile on the App you can look at your trackable inventory. Select the Trackable. Select Log Trackable. Select Visit. Move the map until the geocache you are wanting the trackable to visit shows up. Select the cache. Visit becomes bold and you choose that. Write the log and submit.
  7. I’m not sure how that distinction helps the original questioner. Nor am I sure how translation enters into this conversation. It could be said that the reviewer ‘approves the cache for publication’ which has a different nuance than ‘the reviewer approves the cache’. I doubt that the original question dealt with that difference.
  8. גיאוקאצ'ים חדשים מאושרים על ידי סוקרים מקומיים לאחר הגשת הגיאוקאצ'ים המוצעים דרך אתר ה-geocaching. Note: the question is in Hebrew and my answer (below) was translated from English to Hebrew via Google translate. New geocaches are approved by local reviewers after submission of the proposed geocaches via the geocaching website.
  9. Not on Safari but thanks to niraD I now know that I am 66948.
  10. The simplest way is to buy property big enough (.2 miles min width & depth) that you can place one without fear of encroachment. Of course that may eliminate densely placed housing like most subdivisions and most cities/towns. I love living in the country.
  11. A little tongue in cheek here - Seeing how FTF is not a recognized stat one could creat a new non-recognized stat - First to log online. I have not had those experiences but it would bug me. Fortunately they usually tire of their antics and move on.
  12. I enjoy looking at the output from Project GC because then I get to relive some of my previous caching experiences. I frequently creat the list and put it in my log. I may mention that I satisfied the requirements of the challenge in X number of states over a period of Y number of years or some other tidbit that I found interesting when I looked over my qualifying cache finds. I want to be sure that I qualify and I don’t like to make the CO have to chase down the info. Sometimes I do a screen grab and post the qualifying info as an image with my log.
  13. I became a premium member early on just because I want to support something that that gives me so much enjoyment. That continues to be my motivation and I hope to maintain that status until I can’t.
  14. Whew! I finally got the third souvenir. This all started as I was driving (caching, adding counties, finding webcams, etc) as I traveled from winter quarters in Florida to summer quarters in Michigan. It was easy to get the first two souvenirs. I did not plan on going for the third but a totals check made it look possible because of MOGA Cars Coneys Caches mega event just down the road (GC9RXK9) with a power trail and new adventure labs. Whoopee! Now to wait for the next spin of the wheel.
  15. Thank; you for the explanation of how the word 'Mate' is used. That is an interesting idea of having a day to celebrate GeoMates on GeoMay8. It happens to fall on Monday and in my experience my events work better on the weekend. I have had celebrations either early or late but have used that in the title of the event (see examples below) so I suppose that might work. I wish you well. National Pie Day 2023 (One Day Early) GCA3MV5 Prime Meridian Day 2022 (a few days late) GCA0GZP Prime Meridian Day Event (one week late) GC91QT8
  16. I think it would be ok. I went to an event that the host canceled shortly before the event but I did not see the message. It was canceled so I did not log it. At an event in Iceland I was the only one there besides the host. I have read of one event where the host did not show up but the attendees logged. You were there. Log it.
  17. I also prefer to write a more complete log. I do use cut and paste somewhat but try to individualize each log with something about the cache condition, the weather, what improvements I may have made (new log, dried a wet log, etc), or some other observation. If I am finding a lot in one day it is more difficult to make each log unique but I never write TFTC.
  18. But any CO could have a personal GeoWill and leave his wishes and log-in info with a trusted individual who could then archive or offer the cache for adoption through a state or regional geocaching organization.
  19. Lots more need for boots or a boat with west.
  20. I have met her on the trail and at various events including some of my own events. I was out on the trails in a park with another geocacher finding a few caches in the park. We finished and were by our vehicles and she walked up with some cache containers in her possession. She was also leaving the park and she had collected her caches that we had just found. Apparently there was some dispute with the park management and she chose to remove her geocaches rather than jump through the hoops that they were requesting. So, we were the last ones to find that series before she archived them. She knew the frustrations anyone who placed caches sometimes encounters. She was a great addition to our activity and she will be missed.
  21. I suppose it is a negative stat but I have no problem with it. If I ever approach it again it will be because I have no choice based on health or some such limitation.
