  1. A) caches found- 8 forum posts- 1 C) FTF's- 5 D) certain difficulty/terrain rating- 10 E) Travel Bugs found-3 F) Hides- 5 I want a red envelope!
  2. How about this? When someone suggests a new rule, they become solely responsible to be sure that every new cache placement fits within the new guidlines before the cache is sent to the approvers. That way we could have lots of great new rules without any added burden on TPTB!
  3. Thanks to all of you you for making the last 2 hours of work more interesting.
  4. Check out the last couple of logs on this cache.
  5. Yes, the buttons are on the side. I'm a Legend user, and have had no reception problems that I can complain about. When you do decide what you want, make sure and shop around. Sometimes you can find great deals on the internet! Good Luck!
  6. I find it difficult to be offended by a piece of paper, no matter what is printed on it. Life is too short to get upset over things like this.
  7. These threads are exactly the reason I stopped trading. I stock my caches nicely when I place them, I replenish them as needed, but I don't trade whem searching. It's not worth the hassle and complaning. Just have fun! That's what it's all about!
  8. Kmart should have room for this soon...as soon as they clear out all the Martha Stewart merchandise!
  9. Anyone with more posts or finds than me is obviously just doing it for the numbers! It's really getting ridiculous!
  10. All of the cachers that I have had the pleasure of meeting would give you the shirt off their back if you needed it. I would definately say this was out of the norm!
  11. My wife and I found 31 on our 11th anniversary. She doesn't let me plan the celebratory activities anymore.
  12. Geocaching came first for me. I had been thinking of purchasing a GPSr for a while, but learning about Geocaching was what made me do it. My first, and so far only GPSr is a Legend. I found it to be a good balance between the features I wanted and what my wife was willing to let me spend!
  13. perhaps topics should be automatically closed after 2 pages
  14. Hopefully Brian won't mind if I post this to show people. I think it's very cool!
  15. Replacing the cache was not a bad thing to do in this case, as the owner has not been active on the site since 2001. All they need to do now is email TPTB and adopt the cache. Problem solved!
  16. I've noticed that a few GPSr's out there have the ability to simultaneously track 18 satellites instead of the usual 12. My question is, is it even possible to pick up a signal from 18 of the satellites? If there are 29 currently in orbit, and I may be wrong on that number, you have to figure that at any given time at least half of them are out of "view" to your GPSr. I'm lucky to pick up 6-8 on my Legend. So, is this just overkill in an attempt to sell more units, or is there really something to it?
  17. On caches that I have done that included parking coordinates in the description, I have never bothered to use them. So, they definately would not be a spoiler for me, since I would most likely ignore them. As far as deleting a log, that seems a bit harsh. A better option would be to email the person who wrote it, explain your opinion, and ask them to remove the coords. It would take something much more controversial than this to get me to delete a log!
  18. Log entry: Some version of: I would have never known this place existed...!
  19. Yes, the cache coordinates are the ones listed directly under the name of the cache. Good Luck!
  20. no my cobra is water proofed and has a screw on rubberized battery cover that was a selling point to me. the E-trex only had a 1/4 turn quick release ruberized cover. e-trex also only could store 50 way points which is just 1/10 of the gps100 by cobra. Features Layouts/Waypoints: 500 Barometric altimeter: Yes Detachable antenna: Yes Water-Resistant: Yes Average Battery Life: 22 Hrs Display Display: Color Resolution: 128 x 64 Pixels Dimensions Height: 4.7 in Depth: 1.5 in Width: 2.3 in TAZ WHOA! You got a color display GPSr with a barometric altimeter and detachable antenna for 100 bucks? I'm thinking some of those specs are incorrect. Here is the GPS 100 page on the cobra website. It has a built in patch antenna, an altimeter, (it does not say if it is barometric), and definately no color display. That is not to say it's a bad unit, but it is basically pretty comparable to an etrex. The etrex also stores 500 waypoints, not 50. Here is the etrex page on the garmin website. Just wanted to make sure you have the correct info!

Holding it over your head makes it difficult to read...
  22. Soon people will be reserving waypoints and auctioning them to the highest bidder!
