    New Site Bugs

wow! are there newbies at Groundspeak? coords containing decimal minutes should be written as: DDD MM.MMM that’s pretty wrong: happy coding.
  2. you could load .csv and .gpx files with poi loader as pois to your unit. there is a mac osx version. happy loading.
  3. the unit has to be in »garmin« mode. happy hunting.
  4. that was last century. try firmware 3.3 happy hunting.
  5. ooh boys. yes, that’s the lame garmin way. give this a try: rename the gmapsupp.img to gmapprom.img. then this file will stay on the card while downloading the topos. the topo download will end as an supplementle gmapsupp.img. have fun. happy mapping from hamburg. Happy Hunting – The Old Fashioned Way (Trads only, NO vanity caches, exceptions may appear) Mein Herz schlägt im Westen.
  6. BUMP you’re right about the owner coords. most bookmarks i know are dealing with recommendable caches in a certain region. so, give the bookmarkholder the possibility to enter relevant coords to his bookmark. that should solve the search problem from a cachepage or a viewed bookmark. regards hans. happy hunting.

BUMP what about a locked active listing? seems weired to me. happy hunting - the old fashioned way (trads only, exceptions may appear)
  8. google search or enclosing the search with %-tags [i.e.: %hhl%] will work. Happy hunting – the old fashioned way (trads only, exceptions may appear)
  9. loc files contain very reduced information. you have to use gpx files. Happy hunting – the old fashioned way (trads only, exceptions may appear)
  10. well, here we are: 1. in gsak: filter the caches that should become pois 1a. create a poi folder where the files should exported to 2. run this macro -> HHL’s PoiMacro 2a. looks similar to this: 3. load the macro generated pois (i.e. csv files) with garmin poi loader from poi folder onto the unit. 4. be happy ;-) ps: custom icons for corresponding poi files has to be bmp files (max size 22x22 pixel) named as the csv (i.e. tradi.csv = tradi.bmp) happy hunting - the old fashioned way (trads only, exceptions may appear)
  11. garmin gps 12 (still in use by a cache buddy) garmin gps IIIplus garmin gpsmap 76S (stolen) garmin gpsmap 76C (sold) garmin gpsmap 76CSx garmin street pilot 7200 happy hunting - the old fashioned way (trads only, exceptions may appear)
  12. the feature is named »additional waypoint« and not »additional cache description«. Happy hunting – the old fashioned way (trads only, exceptions may appear)
  13. ist posted just some posts before in this thread. happy hunting.
  14. addendum from GSAK Forum: change output to your needs: open the macro with macro-editor. go to the following line: … $out = $d_longitude + "," + $d_latitude + "," + quote("%drop2 %typ1%con1 %dif1a/%ter1a %shortname=30") + "," + quote("(%hint) %by") + $_NewLine … change the smart tags to your need. the first quote-section is comment 3 (garmin’s »name« - holds 44 chars), the second quote-section is comment 4* (garmin’s »comment« - holds 88 chars (on 60/76 x-series, streetpilots might hold a bit more)). more on smart tags: see gsak help. * will be overridden with poi loader v 2.3.1 alarm notifications, use v 2.2.1 happy coding from hamburg. edit: added some figures.
  15. there is a macro modified by me showing the pois similar to this: downloadable from there. version 2.3.1 is buggy in that way that it always, independant from modus, overrides the comment with a proximity alarm. use version 2.2.1 and you’ll be fine. loadable from there happy hunting from hamburg.
  16. it’a a version 2.3.1 bug. use v 2.2.1 downloadable there. don’t worry about the file name. it’s 2.21 indeed. happy hunting - the old fashioned way (trads only, exceptions may appear)
  17. exactly that one. not supporting this is another bug in garmin’s firmware. happy hunting - the old fashioned way (trads only, exceptions may appear)
  18. no. it’s actually version 2.2.1. happy hunnting.

  20. it works with safari too. happy hunting - the old fashioned way (trads only, exceptions may appear)
  21. enhancement request: let us put the corridor’s size as a free value and we get what everybody wants: rectangle pqs. (ie a horicontal or vertical route containing only two points) that would reduce circle overlapping a lot and saves numbers of pqs.
