  1. Is there even the tiniest chance that there might have been a bit of a zealous over-reaction here?
  2. I don't like it. Nope. I don't like this one little bit. I come here to be entertained by whatever trouble Harmon has managed to get hisself into and what do I find but some sort of mutual admiration society. I'm a startin' ta' think them Mayan calendar builders may have been right, after all. Not to worry James. it's just that Jodi hasn't spotted the photo I posted on "Harmon's Happy Hideout." Figured that I should build up a few sweety-points before I need 'em. Here, I'll share the photo with you butt for goodness sakes don't go telling Jodi about it. So how's that make y' feel ... all better? Poor ol' Harmon SD Rowdies Mr. Harmon, I told Jodi about this, but I don't think she saw the butt in it.... Just trying to help. I finally visited your hideaway yesterday. John Butt??? ... who put that there? Hey! is that a PUD cake? This place looks great(not sure about the butt). Could be a good spot for an event!
  3. All right Tom! Looks like there could be some fun here. I'm in! ~J
  4. If you're looking for a super simple way to download a cache, hook up your GPS by USB to your computer. Go to the cache that you want on Geocaching.com, and on the cache page, just a few lines down, you'll see "send to GPS'. Click that, and it will be sent to your GPSr. Once you can do that, you'll soon see that you can do multiple caches of your own choosing and whatever area you like. Move involved would be to create a Pocket Query in Geocaching.com, and put a check mark in the box for the ones that you want to send to GPS. Happy caching! ~J
  5. A little side note: Bon scott and I will be attempting "Totem Pole Terror" GC32JZ3, with a 28 ft. ladder, somewhere around 5:00pm tomorrow (Tuesday). If anyone would like to meet there, that would be great! I think this one is a stumbling stone for the new MBHOF, and would probably be a fun day on Fiesta Island to boot! Time is approximate, and may actually be closer to 5:30-6:00pm. If you email either one of us, we'll hang for awhile to accomodate anyone with time issues. Cool? ~Jim
  6. Oh Yeah! I wait for this one every year. Kinda short notice(ha ha), but I'll see ya there! ~J
  7. Well, a bit of sad news. Mission 9: Tunnel of Light (GC1169) has been archived! It seems that the entire cache was stolen this time. There is also quite a bit of response from the Geocaching community, so the story may not be entirely over, just yet. Hopefully the cache will reopen with a new "adoptee", or something on that order. Sad to see this one go, for sure! ~J
  8. WOW!! Congratulations, Steve & Janie! That's a AWESOME number!
  9. Thanks!! Seems like it took FOREVER! Retirement.....it's just too busy.
  10. It would really help you (and have fun at the same time) to attend one of the events in your area. They can be found in the weekly Geocaching newsletter. There you can meet people that would LOVE to help you! Cache on!
  11. We have one in San Diego that is an ammo box with a bicycle lock with a combination.
  12. Freedom (with some paperwork)of access, respect as a viable entity, co-operation and sanctioning of our sport from the BLM itself! To bad the BLM has no jurisdiction over the ABDSP. You miss my point the problem is not with the BLM it"s with the ABDSP. BLM in this area of CA has no problems with Caches on their lands, at least not yet. The problem is ABDSP does not want to work with us, There is no work together on this if the other side does not want to listen. y dont we just wait a little while and let them see that the desert isnt getting any cleaner from no caches and maybe they will let us put them there agian Right...from the mouths of babes. Of course it's not gonna be THAT easy, but has anyone talked to Mr.Jorgensen? jimmy from jj duo

  14. Freedom (with some paperwork)of access, respect as a viable entity, co-operation and sanctioning of our sport from the BLM itself! To bad the BLM has no jurisdiction over the ABDSP. C'mon Skillet...Let's all work together on this. Is there really a choice? /
  15. You sure hit the nail on the head there. Wow! Let's step back abit here. If we look through the eyes of all parties involved here,we should be able to see that some compromises are needed (unfortunately mostly ours). I propose that NOTARANGER is most likely not a "bad guy" here, and Mr.Jorgensen actually has the long range vision of ABSP in mind (which should be our goal as well !). We are dealing with alot of emotional issues involved with our freedoms and cache placements. We also feel "unappreciated" as to our role in the scheme of things (please delete Egos here). Did we really expect appreciation? We all agree that the Park is one of the greatest places for us to explore and appreciate that we have at our disposal. I have always believed that co-operation,respect and understanding, are keys to positive change. Let's look at what we have to lose: memories, plastic, some swag, bragging rites. Now let's look at what is to be gained: Freedom (with some paperwork)of access, respect as a viable entity, co-operation and sanctioning of our sport from the BLM itself! I think it is a worthy coelaboration. We'll recover one way or another, ...let's chose "the other". We are actually struggling on the same issue.....J
  16. Do you think you could do a more "mugge-less spot?
