  1. Current CPR, Current Red Cross First Aid Instructor Cert. All my kids are Current CPR and I took the boys through the Air force Survival school. Even learned how to clean gang green (sp) with maggots. Kelly was too young at the time. Survival training has paid off more than once. Its comforting to know that when my boys go camping he has the training and the experiance to come out alive from almost anything. Their mom sleeps better an night when they are out camping. Even Kelly can take care of herself in the wild. Be it the Wild part of downtown Denver or the wilderness. If you can't teach your childred these skills, CPR First Aid, Survival then take them somewhere they can learn it. Then pray you wasted your money and they never HAVE to use it. Ok that went places I had not planned
  2. I have a great idea. Lets keep adding all the rules everyone wants. Every single one of them. In about a week we can all find a new hobby because this one will be ruled to death. How about, "Follow the current guidelines and if you want a game that is more strict, play it that way a yourself"? Just don't ask others to have less fun because you like more control on yourself and others. Please don't try to add more. there are more than enough already.
  3. nevermind you would not understand anyway
  4. Well, Sure, if you want the easy way.
  5. Bryan from Groundspeak approved that one too. He can do that. The guidelines says he can. Nothing to see here. Move along. For those that are not aware. Bryan = Rothstafari

I've learned much more from the Virtual "caches" I have found versus trying to find a micro located on the wrong side of the trolley tracks. In most cases there was no way a physical cache could have been placed at the location of the Virtual. Where would you place a cache at the Manzanar Internment Camp? One virtual where I really learned a lot by meeting the requirements was SD Historical. I'm sorry Virtuals won't be a part of GC.com in the future . . . Honest question. Are you sorry they wont be here because you don't get a smiley for the find? Yes is an acceptable answer. They appear to be even better as Waymarks. Certainly a lot more of them. No more fighting to get them approved.
  8. have her contact GC.com at the contact@ email and ask for assistance.
  9. you may not care what anyone says but I suggest you read the forum guidelines. Besides do a little searching, this is a VERY old topic. been talked about many time. different people, different times same issue. You are not your brothers keeper. Stop trying to be
  10. nope Sorry but this WAS approved by Groundspeak. There is a difference between an "Event Cache" and a "Commercial Cache" The guidlines you quoted are for Commercial caches. This was an Event cache. Which the guidelines state... Event Caches Event caches are gatherings that are open to all geocachers and which are organized by geocachers. After the event has passed, the event cache should be archived by the organizer within four weeks. While a music concert, a garage sale, a ham radio field day or town’s fireworks display might be of interest to a large percentage of geocachers, such events are not suitable for submission as event caches because the organizers and the primary attendees are not geocachers. In addition, an event cache should not be set up for the sole purpose of drawing together cachers for an organized hunt of another cache or caches. Such group hunts are best organized using the forums or an email distribution list. For geocaching events that involve several components, such as a day-long group cache hunt that also involves a seminar and dinner, only a single event cache covering all components should be submitted. Event caches should be submitted no less than two weeks prior to the date of the event, so that potential attendees will have sufficient notice to make their plans. Events are generally listed no more than three months prior to the date of the event, to avoid having the listing appear for a prolonged period of time on the nearest caches page and in the weekly e-mail notification of new caches. Exceptions are sometimes made for events that are designed to attract a regional, national or international group of geocachers. Contact your reviewer if you wish to set up such an event, which may be listed up to six months in advance. And that was a violation of guidelines. Tosmith is not a cacher, or at least has not demosrated that he/she is, since so far the only caching done was for commercial purposes. El Diablo Permission from Groundspeak trumps everything. Relax, no one was hurt and no one died. Its a game for gods sake.
  11. There's an office?!? Whoa. Trying to absorb that. Is there, like, a Groundspeak copy machine with staples and paperclips next to it? Is there an annual picnic? Do you all hate that one guy in accounting? You know the one! Is there petty cash and do you use it to buy Debbie at the front desk a card on her birthday? Office and geocaching. It's like matter and antimatter. I'm going to have to chew on this a while. there is an office, Ive been there. No debbie. Hydee and Nate were closest to the door when i was there. Nice place but they need some pictures on the walls
  12. nope Sorry but this WAS approved by Groundspeak.
  13. That and he asked 3 times in less than an hour. Give it a sometime to be answered.
  14. Why pessimist? I am just realistic. There is nothing special about geocaching. Get real! It's a great hobby, sure. It is nothing special in the sense of other hobbies where people find things. Jeremy wants all these hobbies on his page and geocaching is just another hobby Funny, When I visited Jeremy a while ago I didnt see you in the meeting. Its nice to see that you can read his mind from a distance. Keep up the good work
  15. Go to your online Paypal history and it will tell you if its renewing or non-renewing
  16. You are a normal (basic) member. If your paypal renewed in April or May the following information will help you:
  17. At Invesco Field at Mile High there is a Bronco Horse head made of colored seats. the eye of the horse is I thnk a black seat and has become a coveted place to sit. I would think this kind of place would fit in your "red chair" idea. DO I understand what you are trying to do?
  18. As a reviewer its my job to be helpful. You are welcome.
  19. Maybe you are correct. Maybe it hasn't accured to them to do so. Maybe it hasn't caused a problem yet. ... If you are so sure its wrong report it to Contact@geocaching.com.
  20. That looks like it was designed to circumvent the guideline and should be 'disallowed'. Actually, it meets all of the guidelines, and doesn't suffer from any of the 5 problems outlined by Keystone above concerning moving caches...because it's not a moving cache...but thanks for playing Actually, I wasn't playing. Since the bug is not bound to a cache, other than through the 50' request, there is nothing keeping the ammo box from being placed in a commercial location, near a sensitive location, et al as long as there is a micro or a virt within 50'. The reason I stated that it was circumventing the guidelines is because it is. Gee I would think if it was then Groundspeak would have done something about it already. Its not a secret this TB exists.

  22. Placing Caches on Vacation Placing caches on vacation is unacceptable and these caches will not be approved on the web site. As the cache owner you are obligated to be in a position to manage your caches, and caches placed on vacation require someone else to maintain them for you. Please be responsible. Virtual caches also require maintaince. You need to be able to check to make sure that the proof you ask for has not been changed or removed. Prior to considering a virtual cache, you must have given consideration to the question “why couldn’t a microcache or multi-cache be placed there?” Physical caches have priority, so please consider adding a traditional, micro or making the location a step in an offset or multi-stage cache with the physical cache placed in an area that is appropriate. Virtual Cache Posting Guidelines A virtual cache must be a physical object that can be referenced through latitude and longitude coordinates. That object should be semi-permanent to permanent. Objects in motion (such as people, vehicles) generally do not qualify as a virtual cache, unless that item can be adequately tracked and updated on the Geocaching.com web site. (For example, a link to a tracker for a vehicle might be acceptable, but contact your local approver first before posting it as a virtual cache to work out the details.) If I post the cache today, someone else should be able to find it tomorrow and the next day. Based on the above guidelines I would say no its not going to work.
  23. Try sending your request to Contact@geocaching.com. They can help you there.
