  1. Yeah, I had read the GSAK Forum section listed and the below post concerned me: Again, with "turn on & go" reliability needed, the line in bold (and the line above) scared me witless. Again, with no time to be faffing about and zero technical skill with MACs, the line in italics scared me even more. (I'm sure that I also mentioned it was my wife's notebook so I'm not prepared to partition hard drives - especially given the inherent dangers in doing so and that 'lack of time' to get everything squared away issue)
  2. Can anyone give me a FREE (or obscenely cheap), robust, well designed geocaching app, similar in features to GSAK for the MAC. I especially like the features in the lastest incantion (Version 8) of GSAK, where it links to the GC.com API & bulk uploads logs, so I'm looking for something that will do that. I'n travelling with my wife from late-November to early-January and I will be due to find my 1000th cache (plus more) while we're away. My laptop is Windows (my server and my desktop, though, are Linux) and I used GSAK on my laptop. The trouble for me is that my laptop is bulky (read as: HEAVY) compared to my wife's MACBOOK Pro. I'm not interested in re-partitioning hard drives and -likely, with all the work and geocaching I'm trying to get done between now and then. I'm at 956 finds as of today - I don't want to be faffing about with GSAK, trying to get it to work on the MAC some of the time... I want native, reliable connection with my GARMIN MONTANA 650t, every time, in cafes, motel rooms or at my sister-in-law's place. Again, I won't have time to p*ss-fart about trying to get something to work, and I'm not going to play with GSAK, trying to cobble together some unreliable connection to my GPSr. It needs to install and just work. (I'm just not a MAC person, so please limit the technicalities. I just need something to work without playing around 'under the hood'.)`
  3. A friend of mine, who I am mentoring, is also having trouble signing into the App (Free) after having signed up to GC.com using her Facebook credentials. Did you use you Facebook password all three times? What log in information were you given (generically)?
  4. Now this is a particularly interesting thread because I'd been planning on running a drive to get containers, swaps, made travel bugs and geocoins sent to Brisbane in order to get Geocahcing up and running in Qld again. (of course, this would have been after everything else has settled down.) Do you all think this is needed? Are people just going to pick up, empty their tins/containers of water, replace the logbook, and keep on geocaching? What about waterways-based series of caches, such as the Oxley series that runs along Oxley Creek - which down past Archerfield?
