  1. This would only be meaningful in the US, outside the US the norm is to have day-month-year so the date would be 12-11-13
  2. I did not go and see the wide vistas but still found some beautiful spots !!! Not to mention the difficulty navigating around them.
  3. I had this with my phone. I'm also logged in automatically on my computer and phone. When I'm in the app it's fine to have both the app and the website (computer) going but when I switch to the browser on my phone it kicks me out of the computer login. It does the same with separate browsers on my computer. Related, my husband and I use separate browsers on the computer for the opposite reason. We both want to stay logged into pages with our own account ETA Don't know if there is a solution to this.
  4. So not to end up with short logs I often, on my walk away from the cache, will start dictating the log by voice on my phone. This way I still have the specifics in my head and I only have to edit for punctuation and wrong word recognitions.
  5. Thank you all for the information and links !!! As far as the Beasty Boys on Boom box goes, I think the current generation most likely to do this would be going for the Caching Harlem Shake 😉
  6. I should clarify. I'm from Holland where there is no real hunting season and the only hunting is done by game controllers (professional hunters). I now live in the US and am not very familiar with when hunting season is where and under what rules. Being in New England I realize makes this more complicated as I have multiple States to consider. I was just wondering what other cachers do. I DO want to be inconspicuous as the areas I hike and cache in are frequented by other hikers and I find myself often 'hiding' as not to give the cache site away when I grab and sign the cache. There is so much mugging going on already as it is. I guess the trick is then to stay in hunt free zones ... Now just have to find out which ones those are ...
  7. So with hunting season starting here (New England, USA) What do you wear ? I usually go caching in a black hoody, keeps the muskies away if needed and the needles/branches etc out of my hair. With hunting season starting this seems a little dangerous. Of course I can stay out of hunting areas but the way things go here even your back yard is not always safe. So do you wear an orange vest or hat ? How does this affect trying to stay 'invissible' when muggles come close to the scene ?
  8. I'm reviving this tread due to questions I have. I just got my 62s and I see my caches fine as do i see the way points. but how do I know what waypoint is associated with which cache ? also when I add a new way point as in multies how do I associate them with the cache ? Thank you !!!
  9. Hi, I just recently upgraded to a GarminMap62s. I have figured out how to copy the pocketquery to the GPX folder and I see all the caches on the Garmin. However I see all the associated waypoints as individual points. How do I know which waypoint is associated with which cache ? Also how do I add new waypoints AND have them associated with a cache (for multies). Am I just missing something or is this not possible ? Thank you
  10. I had this just happen: My first TB out in a cache. One team logged after I placed it and did not mention or take it, second to log online mentioned the TB as missing. I placed a watch on the cache just in case. This week I get a TB log by a third team who found the cache and took the TB. They never logged this cache online (also not in the past and checked that they did not go back to grab a TB). They ARE however active cachers with several hundred ONLINE logs in the last year and did log caches that day... Needless to say I'm happy my TB is moving again. So maybe some of those logging the sheet but not the cache just forgot to log online when they are on a streak ?
  11. I have my first TB on it's way from New England to Holland (TB4FNTJ). My niece wants a pony and I want to help her find one. Once in the Netherlands the TB is supposed to be taken in a picture with horses, pony's or donkeys so I can make a choice. :-)
