  1. Looks like they weren't the only ones. Looks like everybody logged a separate entry for every cache they found AT the event! Looks like a good way to drive up everyone's numbers. Of course, I guess it could be said they legitimately found them all.
  2. OK...I missed the sarcasm - looks like it's time for more coffee!!
  3. Question: If a user name was created in Jul 2001, but never validated, could that name be freed up for someone else to use?
  4. 3000+ finds and they haven't figured out what defines a find? Edit: Emphasized the parts of the quote I found most interesting.
  5. Why not just leave the hint blank? Those are the ones that are really frustrating...you're looking for a cache, you're running out of ideas, and you decide to decode the hint to see if you can get a gentle push in the right direction - lo and behold, you're reading something totally useless. Bottom line: If you want to keep the difficulty high and not give a hint, give no hint, not a useless one.
  6. Here's the latest update I got: They're also looking for volunteers to help set out treasure and will send you a secret video if you get the newsletter.
  7. Time in a Capsule Just came across this site this morning - anyone thought about doing this? What a great idea to save something for posterity - a geocache for the generations!
  8. Hmmmm...maybe parts of the cache - I found a coffee can lid once, it could have been part of the cache, maybe it's a find? Here's someone who's at least honest enough to ask before he cheats:
  9. Just came across this one, with two "special" finds: So...If I find the spot and like it, it counts. Then the next guy can follow suit, even after it's disabled?
  10. Yesterday, I was "fortunate" enough to hit two of my "favorite" varieties of useless hints. Thank goodness I was speed caching and decrypted before I went, or I'd have been upset! Good thing to know when I've already parked my car and found the coordinates in the middle of the park on the west side of 120th street! Then why not leave it blank!
  11. On the page for your bug, you'll see "Travel Bug Owner Options". Pull down that list and select "Mark bug missing". Click Go and you're done!
  12. Here's a website about the movie and game. And going by this, I think 1 June is the magic day! (It's when the game starts, so I'm guessing it coincides with the film release.
  13. And there's a recent site posting (3/2/06) about the creation of the score for the movie - guess it's really happening! Edgen Animations - GPS the Movie
  14. Someone had one of those at a Nebraska Cachers meeting. It had a coin inside. I managed to get it figured out, and now I have a coin that travels with me!
  15. After a DNF and a note indicating a DNF, this log showed up: Gosh, I'm wasting way too much time actually trying to find the container - I just need a picture of me in the general area!
  16. Has anyone got any updates from them? I signed up, I think twice, for the mailing list, and to get information on the game, but haven't received a single email. I'm wondering if this isn't something that got started, then shut down during post-production and they just never got around to updating the site.
  17. Not necessarily. If you have the details, you can post them. You never know what can happen!
  18. That sounds like a pretty good hint to me!
  19. Area 51 cache - it's required to be a quick park and grab - you park at the fence, run as fast as you can to get the cache in the middle of Area 51, and get back to your car before the nice Camo Dudes see you.
  20. Best part it...they didn't even upload the photo to document the "find"!
  21. I had to bump Faith up to brag on her. She has officially earned the title Geocaching Wondermutt! Check out her cache find!
  22. How can cache owners ok a find that you didn't find??? I think some owners are as afraid of DNFs as seekers are! I had logged this as a DNF: And got this email: Since I was borderline on a note vs DNF anyway (I never actually hunted, which is normally my threshold for a DNF) I made the edit.
  23. AZBliss, Congrats! It's good to see that sometimes it really does pay off to just have faith in the system! I only wish I wasn't 600 miles away so I could hunt this cache!
