  1. I've not tried it yet, but I've read that an easy way to remove them is to put some dish soap on a cotton ball and hold it over the tick. It will back out on it's own accord and you can then pick it off without worrying about squeezing it.
  2. http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=569027 I'm rather computer illiterate . But I guess old ladies have the right to be challenged by something. Anyway, here is one of my bugs. His name is Chris. He started here in Columbus, KS, and his goal is to visit all of the places named Columbus in the U.S. It's been less than a year since his journey started and he's at his second goal. I'm anxious to see how far he makes it.
  3. I have a TB named Grandbaby Bear. I placed it before my grandaughter was born. Its mission was to see how many miles it could get before she was born. It didn't move for a couple of months and I emailed the person who had it. The first placement was on the day she was born into a cache in Kuwait. It made ovre 1700 miles on its first leg. Then it came back stateside and is now traveling the midwest. I thought that was cool. Don't know if it was a military person that placed it or not, but it made it over there. And my granddaughter was born on a military base. Her mother is in the army.
  4. "Chisana River (AK)" Red Jeep Travel Bug will start its travels in SE Kansas. I thought it was cool to hear that one is named Elk River MN. My home town is Elk River, MN. It is where the Elk flows into the Mississippi about 50 miles north of Minneapolis. Not sure what they mean by South Fork though. I will have to look that one up and see if there is more than one Elk River in MN.
  5. Actually a very helpful hint for keeping the bugs away is vitamin B. When taken regularly, it wards off the bugs. If you have ever smelled the stuff, you will know why. It gets in your blood stream and the misquitoes can smell it and don't like it.
  6. I got mine today too!!!!!! Whoohoo!!! This is only the second one I have ever seen. I did have a green one last fall and submitted a picture for the contest but heard nothing. That was the only one within 100 miles of me that I am aware of. Maybe this one will stay local for awhile? Now I want to create a new cache to put it in but what and where is the dilema?
