  1. That link keeps sending me to a picture instead of a sale. Can you fix it?
  2. I'm so sorry for your loss. My dad and I Geocache together a lot so I can relate to how you feel. Your dad sounds like a great person and I'm glad that you've made something so beautiful out of this tragedy.
  3. Sorry, but not everyone in my generation is a bunch of SmartPhone obsessed narcissists with no care for other people. I understand that you're upset, as I've had some of my caches damaged by my peers and those younger than me and those older than me. I have actually found (in my experience) that some of the most close-minded narcissistic people are over the age of forty. So, please, quit throwing stones at a whole group when it's just a few bad eggs. Besides, without people who are critical of ideas and operations, how would we as a society evolve? *Edited to fix a flow error
  4. It was a new cachers very first log. I thought it was great for a newbie. LOL!!! Dental hygene items... gross!!! But funny! Well, it is a dentistry themed cache. Found it! By the way, I like what you have to say on your profile page: I take great pride in each and every hide I make. Whether it's a micro hanging on a fence post, or a regular container hidden cleverly next to a sidewalk (Hint hint), each has a touch of my personality and creativity attached. Thank you My goal as a chase hider is to hide caches that not only entertain others, but inspire them to create something cool.

  6. I just got this log on one of my caches today. It was a new cachers very first log. I thought it was great for a newbie.
  7. I've heard of a Dvd, $10, a gift card to Subway, a GPSr, and one of my caches will have a full animated series as the FTF prize.
  8. Here is another one I read that was really awesome Wow! Those are both very interesting logs, AND they may have saved a life! I know! I got to meet the guy who posted the second. He served in the army for ten years and is teaching nephew orienteering through Geocaching.
  9. I try to at the very least theme my cache pages, explain that permission was granted, and have a reason for it being there. As you said, lead by example.
  10. I took a friend of mine Geocaching and explained to him how to log the caches. When i logged on the next day, here's what I came across Here is another one I read that was really awesome
  11. But the page said the cache was at eye level! (Whilst on the top of a mountain)
  12. Can I as a technical "noobie" make a case here? I started Geocaching back in 2012 when my dad gave me a Garmin Dakota for my birthday, and since then, I've been hooked. I typically go for caches that I think I would enjoy finding and filter out those that aren't up my alley. I think it's great that Geocaching has become as big as it has (DON'T SHOOT ME YET!), though when anything becomes big, it has a backlash. I personally enjoy that there are enough Geocaches out there for people to play the game the way they want to. I personally hate urban caching, so a large number of my finds are in rural areas, whereas my dad just enjoys the thrill of the hunt, no matter where it is. Without numbers, how could people ever play the way they want? Sure, because of numbers you get your leaking pill bottles under a light pole, but also because of numbers you get hides like Ottieolsen does. Now, this one is more personal, so I don't necessarily expect you guys to relate. I love how big Geocaching is because it enables me to meet people who are like me. As a recent high school graduate, many of my peers looked down upon anyone who went hiking on a regular basis because it wasn't the norm. Since I've gone to events and even met a few cachers in the wild, I've found that there are people out there who are like me and enjoy the same things I do. With that said, I agree that there are things that need to be fixed. I personally think it would be a great idea for the Itro App to only allow you to find five caches before it makes you buy the app for $0.99 or something of the like. That will cut down on the number of people just finding six or seven, and ruining good caches as well as taking trackables. This is because it might cause people to go on the site and see what Geocaching is actually all about. I also think that this quote should be freaking PLASTERED all over the "make a Geocache listing" pages. If I hadn't read the guidelines, then I never would have seen this quote. Then I doubt I would be making the Geocaches I am today. I don't think Geocaching is a broken game, I believe it has flaws and problems, but what "society" doesn't. This isn't to say we should just sit back and let the problems exist, but I do believe that one's personal outlook on the Geocaching world makes all the difference. Sorry for the long post.
  13. Don't worry about it, my puzzle has only one find and has been up for a couple of months. Nothing to worry about.
  14. No, not at all. And it isn't new. The recently archived Colorado Geo"Art" was also made up of mystery caches. The point isn't that "it must be wrong". The point is that it is a no-brainer to make a picture of something when you can make up the coordinates to be whatever you need them to be in order to make your picture. Now, the old steam locomotive geoArt... that, as I recall, was all or mostly all regular caches, and placed in very hilly terrain at that. THAT got my respect. This does not. This has all the creativity of playing Chopin on a player piano. How is this one? https://www.geocaching.com/map/default.aspx#?ll=38.77456,-97.07983&z=12
  15. I am celebrating my newest record of 20 caches found in a single day. It was completely insane! Log: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=fe36a4d2-445d-48a5-bcd7-06e8ac4a38a9
  16. I set a new caching record today! 20 in one single day, and I still attended a birthday party and trained with my teammates for State Track.
  17. I've used this before and it didn't do well on the plastic I used it on. Do you think it might actually work?
  18. Recently we had some very bad weather in my area and one of my caches was rendered impossible to fix. It will last another month or so, but I am working on a replacement so I can just get a better hide up for cachers. The original container was a small plastic container inside of a miniature wishing well hidden outside a local odds and ends shop. I am going to build a wishing well from scratch and am planning on placing a plastic ammo box in the center, but I absolutely hate the green color. This cache is themed and I didn't know if there was any possible way to decorate a plastic ammo box other than wrapping it in gold duct tape. Any other suggestions to make this cache would be appreciated.
  19. I published an entire cache series based around a show, it should be find. The top six are part of the series: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?u=KaRue
  20. A lot of people log these items as discovered for the icons, or the number game of finding X number of trackables. I recently created a trackable page where the intent is to allow people to virtually log, if they complete the cache page goal. For this particular bug, I want people to merely share their story on the cache page. The more logs I get, the more stories I'll have. For some strange reason, though, I can't seem to get any logs on it… Interesting how that works, no?
  21. Here are a few of my favorite logs, That last log was from a Geocacher's third find ever. I thought it was really noteworthy how much she wrote.
  22. I YouTube mine from time to time. It depends on how much I liked the cache.
