  1. I just moved from the SF Bay Area to Brazil. In a city of 18 million people, there's only about 6 caches (within a 10 mile radius) Also with an urban setting, I'm thinking a lot about good places.
The first ones to place caches in an area can pick all the best places! Lucky you!

I have to take into account the police on every corner and not to get them to think me/cachers are doing anything suspicious. Tomorrow I'm doing some research on locations. I brought like 20 containers in my bag LOL

  2. I recently got stopped by a park ranger. It seems where the cache was located (in a creek bed) was illegal to go down. There were signs (not the best writen though) Anyway, I emailed the owner, the moderator who approved it and I posted a note on the cache page.

    Still nothing.

I was once stopped by a park ranger in Ohio in about the same circumstances. The ranger allowed me to violate the law (go off trail) to show him where the cache was located. He then said it is illegal and I should notify the owner to remove it. I said I would do so and offered to remove it myself if it was a big issue. He said notifying the owner would be better.

I posted SBA based at the park ranger's request and the response form the cache owner was something like "too bad you are so stupid that you tried to hunt a cache where a park ranger was watching".

Moral of the story is if a cache is placed where it is not supposed to be and you get caught finding it, it is your fault for not being sneaky enough.

    PS

The cache was immediately archived and the local reviewer sent me a note that they had been in negotiations with the area parks departments for quite a while and the cache in question was detrimental to their efforts.

I never heard anything back from anyone I emailed.

Did you issue an SBA log? That gets the attention of the regional reviewer(s).

I wasnt able to issue one. I'm not sure if I know how. But I didnt directly email the local reviewer who reviewed it and explained the situation.
