I've gotten really into waypointing. Having not many geocaches in Brazil, it's my next best thing. Plus there's so much to share. Yesterday while hiding a few caches, I did a few waypointings.

14 caches and 13 watchers. That a little over 1 per cache.

Today I was talking to a fellow business man who has a Extrex Venture in Brazil..anyway he said he gets about 12 meters (about 30+ft) This is in the country side.

What's S.C.'s rules on caches in state parks?

Based on the comment "The new coordinates are less than the suggested minimun distance but route 114 separates the two points so there should be no confusion." I think the owner is trying to use the natural obstacle as a reasining.

What kind of security. Apartments have security in Visalia. Is the Central Valley that unsafe?

I'm curious what was written to the reviewer, because by the Google image it looks like the cache in in the middle of the street.

I've also had desk jobs, so I cache on days of or on weekends.

I once went to a cache in a wooded area overlooking a park where a trail was made by wear and tear of the flora.

I'll wait on rebooting. I'm trying to get a hold of some local cachers to see how their accuracy is.

To the appall of my girlfriend I'll point out locations along a street of where we cached. She'll just roll her eyes LOL

I took a trip to Oregon from the Bay Area. Cached in about 12 counties. I just looked for caches along the I5 and US101. I put them into my GPS with the cord and I printed out a page with vital info on each page.

What's the most visually aesthetic cache page? Nice photos, background, colors etc...

I dont think it's the unit. In the US I was getting an average of 15ft. Now it's about 40ft

That's convenient for anyone that needs to call someone for a hint! I have seen some very clever ideas that people have done in concrete jungles. One guy took a digital photo of a large sticker on an electrical box and made an exact copy of it and made it into a thin refrigerator type magnet with the log on the magnetic side. He stuck it on back the box and it looked exactly like the real thing but you pulled it off and signed it (once you finally figured it out)! The worse part is the reception I get is so bad. All the tall building. You may want to check out the new Garmins with the SiRF chip (60CSX). They will perform much better under those conditions! I'm still trying to figure it out. If I'm on the street I can get 33 ft. If I'm 19 stories in the air with a clear view of the sky, I get worse reception. I see what you mean. If the cache is 19 stories up then you will need really very good accuracy! But seriously, it sounds like you are getting some signal bounce. Many GPSs really work well with large amounts of concrete and metal nearby. I'm gonna test it out some more. I know in dowtown SF the accuracy sucks.

Placing my first cache in Brazil, I noticed the crappy accuracy I was getting. Taking account of the buildings around me, do you location on earth have anything to do with your sat. accuracy. Even when I'm on the roof of my apartment building (with a clear view to the sky) I get a bad reception.

I planted a small one on a telephone booth on an interesting street. It's hard when you're in an concrete jungle.

Once while in a park I found a garbage bag under a tree filled with what looked to be bones. I called the cops just to be sure.

I'm in Sao Paulo. Too far from Para state.
