  1. Hey everyone.....Kurt here back from the dead. Man this thread has gotten long, it's been forever since I have checked it. Glad to see you guys are all still active, esp. Ron. ..I didn't even look to see how many caches he's up to. I just thought I'd drop in becuase Bill FINALLY logged in timberwolf, one of the first caches I have ever placed. i am amazed that white trash container (if you know what I mean) has lasted that long. Got Gas in livermore has been doing well, it seems like a popular cache. I've just been way to busy to even maintain my caches, We had a SECOND baby boy in november and they are only a year and 1/2 apart...so with work and kids.....no time. It also seems like a lot of the caches are now member only. At least a lot more than when I was around. Anyway, just wanted to say Hi all! if you remember me..... Maybe I'll have time this spring to get back to cacheing..... KURT
  2. If you remember my wife and I had a baby boy... he's 11 months old now, he takes up a lot of time PLUS I am still teaching nights at Heald PLUS my commute takes about an hour each way PLUS I have been coaching Track......So there's all my excuses for me not being around. (I can honestly say I've missed being around and chatting with you guys on this board...) I am hoping that I will have time in 2 1/2 weeks when summer starts for me. I also have to fix the Blue Bandit and Kurt's Cache which have both had to be archived. Then I have a lot of work to do to catch up to George this summer (yeah right....) I was reading up a little farther on this thread at one of Ron's posts....Why doesn't CVC have a webpage? We should do one....even if's one of those cheapy geocities free website deals it could be kinda cool... KURTULEAS
  3. Did someone higher up on this thread say "REDNECK"???? What's this geocaching thingy all about anyway Just kidding...I just stopped by to say "HI" and prove to everyone that I am not dead. My "GOT GAS" cache seems to have been busy while I have been gone though.... Summer starts soon so I hope to have a little extra time to start caching again......It's tough being a HS teacher. 4. This coming weekend me and the boys are gonna head to the hills with our rigs to do some four-wheeling, shooting, drinking, chewing and other assorted redneck, white trash kinda things. Here's the problem: I am leaving for my buddies place in Placerville on Friday morning & I need to be there by noon at the latest so we can head to the mountains. Can you guys recommed any Caches on the way up there that are not too far off the highway? I just thought i'd try to bag a few on the trip up. I tried to look at the CA cache map as to what caches are close to hwy 50 and hwy 5, but there are so many that I don't know which ones to try first. KURTULEAS
  5. I played hookey thursday from work to "do a little housework" which really means "do a little caching" The only problem was our babysitter couldn't babysit, So I had to lug the little guy around while I tried to bag a few 1/1. I was going to check on Kurt's Cache to make sure it's till there (90 days without a find), but I was worried about taking Peyton up there. I didn't think it would be safe. (esp on that road, or the walk to the cache) Do you guys think that I Should close down that cache untill I get a chance to get up there? I have people telling me they can't find it, and being one of my caches, it's not too difficult.... KURTULEAS
  6. Hi guys! (and girls), I am back from the dead. Football season ended this past week, so NOW i'll have time to get caching again (and get a life again). Congrats Bill on finally bagging the Blue Bandit, I am sorry about not checking on Kurt's Kache, it's just that I haven't had time. I'll do it tomorrow during the day and let you know if it's still there. I made the mistake of looking at the page before this one (curiosity got the best of me after Mike's comment). Kinda disheartening for a newbie like me to read those threads. Esp. when I really look up to a couple of you guys..... KURTULEAS
  7. At this cache: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cachelog_details.asp?ID=81957&L=468825 There is a tall pole. The cache is named after the hawk that likes to sit on the top of the pole. Being white trash rednecks: we made an effort to climb it. i chickened out, but my but Dan climbed the rungs all the way up. KURTULEAS
  8. Here's my baby girl! I'll do easier caches with her, but here's a pic at the Silver Gyrations cache in p-town CA!! And another one with me and my baby boy. I also have my Jeep rubicon on order (3 more weeks till she comes in) because the rig thats in my icon picture does not know how to keep running KURTULEAS
  9. MONTRAILS!!! I went backpacking one summer, but could not find my hiking boots. I was going up into the sierras for 3 night hiking 25+ miles total. The day before we left I went to any mountain and the sales rep swore by Montrails. He promised me I would not get any blisters....I didn't. In fact my feet felt so freaking good, that I WILL ONLY WEAR MONTRAILS. Nikes suck compared to them. The current pair that I have been wearing have lasted me for a full year of wearing everyday, and they are still in good shape. With all that said. Montrails rule. (and I don't even own stck in that company) KURTULEAS
  10. I started teaching nights again sO I have NO life, but if you guys are gonna head for the hills Mike, let me know. My new jeep STILL isn't in though.... Geore, I really like the latest CVC graphic. KURTULEAS
  11. What does jeremy think about all this? Personally I think this ski3pin is a big freaking know-it-all do gooder. How about this... If those 3 caches that are being held hostage are not replaced, i'll cut down 3 freakin' trees in the desolation wilderness. I'll oil my blade while I wait for a response..... KURTULEAS
  12. My first name is "kurt" and since I am a bodybuilder and a manley-man, people on my football team used to call me "Herculeas" after the greek hero. (actually they were teasing me for eating too much like that little kid in the Nutty Professor) Herculeas! Herculeas! changed to: Kurtuleas! Kurtuleas! The Avatar is my jeep on the Rubicon trail. One of my fav hobbies to to go 4 wheeling and camping in the sierras KURTULEAS
  13. Yeah i'll admit it, i'm a computer geek. But I don't work in IT....no job security in that field anymore. REAL geocachers are in education. That way we can have ALL SUMMER off to go caching. When I am not caching during the 3 PAID MONTHS I have off, I am calliing all my friends at work and teasing them. BTW My fav toy as a kid was my Commadore 64. So much so, that I still have a Commadore 64 emmulator on my pc. Before that it was a Commadore VIC 20. That's the old days when you spent 10 hours typing in basic to write a simple game, and then you couldn't turn the computer off because there was no hard drive or floppy drive to save it. My mom always pissed me off when she unplugged it to vacum. KURTULEAS
  14. So far I have only placed 5 caches, but I should have waited until I found a lot more caches. I made them entirely TOO easy to find in my opinon, especially for the area that I cache in. I live in an area with several pretty hardcore cachers, and my caches were not even a challenge for them. I sincerly believe someone should find at least 20-25 caches until they place thier first cache. That way they will have a better idea of how hard to make it. KURTULEAS
  15. Does being in the Militia count? I have been a proud arm-bearing citizen and NRA member since I was 9. My respect to all of you. I want to thank all of you for the service you gave to our nation. KURTULEAS
  16. I WISH I could find good booty in a cache. Like Shakira's or Jennifer Lopez's. But then again my definition of booty is something different....... KURTULEAS
  17. If you don't get it just scream it in a crowded place LUKE!!! LUKE Atmaphatas!!!! KURTULEAS
  18. I think a logbook with a wax pencil and some type of waterproof marking surface would be an awesome logbbok for underwater caches. I'd buy that for a dollar. (If someone could make one and sell it) KURTULEAS
  19. but I just had to say that "Joecthulhu" is a tight name. Please tell me that's your real last name. BTW the pic you have just doesn't fit the name. Cute, but it just doesn't do Cthulhu justice. KURTULEAS
  20. Oops, I found that BBQ page....86 the end of that last post from your brain..... KURTULEAS

  22. I didn't have to do that with my rig...Maybe I should have. You gotta post a pic. i just put the depsoit down on my jeep Rubicon last night, but they haven't even started to build them yet, so I still have to wait another 6-8 weeks. Busy isn't the work for it, I'm swamped. Football, work, baby, commute and teacher rallies to get rid of our superintendant etc., I'm about to keel over. Hey is this BBQ by e-mail invite only, or open to everyone? Did someone say that there's a BBQ page? I couldn't find it. KURTULEAS

  24. I tried to get to that cartoon creation website here at work, but the school district has that website blocked for some reason. Sucks because I was juiced to make a few.... I have 3 geocaches all set to place somewhere, but no time to place them. I think all of my caches have been entirely too easy for all you guys so I'm gonna make these puppies TOUGH. We have a thursday game this week so I may actually have some time to go caching this weekend. Mike: did you ever finish lifting your rig? KURTULEAS
