  1. I always write a note in the log if I take or swap a coin or TB and I think other people should too so cachers know that a coin/TB has been moved and not stolen. I don't bother writing in the log for cache maintenance stops or if I am just walking by a cache I've already found and decide to have a look.
  2. Someone on the forums suggested I use GSAK a couple weeks back and now I don't know how I cached without it. It's probably everything you're looking for.
  3. Klepto Kitty: http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=68349
  4. Thanks for the advice. I'll try what everyone's suggested, beginning with posting a version of BlueDeuce's note.
  5. There's a cache around here with a couple TBs that have been missing for over a year. I hope the TBs turn up again, but a succession of cachers have posted notes both on the cache and on the TB pages that the TBs are long gone. If the owners won't make the TBs leave, can reviewers do it? Can you at least kick a TB out of your own cache?
  6. I posted an SBA note on a nearby cache that got muggled and it was archived by a reviewer the next day.
  7. Right now, when I plan my trips I have to make multiple cut and pastes of info from each cache page and then condense it down to one or two sheets. I'd like to know if there's a software program that can do something like that for me automatically, take the info (coords, type, description, difficulty, maybe a couple logs?) and condense it into a readable, portable form. I think Cachemate does something like this but I don't have a PDA and I won't be buying another electronic toy for a while.
  8. Chick tracts are small religious comic books about the size of index cards that folks buy in mass quanitites to distrubute and thus pass along their particular far-right version of the word of God. I'm sure there are knock offs, but the best ones are published by a guy named Jack Chick. http://www.chick.com/catalog/tractlist.asp They are a guaranteed laugh or seven. I'm thinking about buying a bunch to use as trading items.
  9. Someone should release more of these useful TBs: http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=147298
  10. I think it's sad that people trash stuff like Chick Tracts when they find them. Those things are hysterically funny and I snag them whenever I can. I'd love to find some in a cache.
  11. Recently I visited a cache that had three geocoins logged there, according to the cache page. None of them were in the ammo can, so in my log I posted asking people to please log their coin finds. In response, the cache owner emailed me telling me they were "virtual coins" but didn't respond to my newbie questions about what they heck they were. So what is a virtual coin?
  12. Yep, otherwise it wouldn't let me use the premium map features.
  13. I'd love do be able to do this. Now I run a PQ for travelbugs and just eyeball the results looking for coin icons.
  14. How long after you log your find does it take for the red check mark to show up on the maps? It's a little thing but I find it easier to visualize a large cache-saturated area if I can easily pick out spots I've been to on the map.
  15. Sounds like a job for this travel bug.
