  1. For finds I've done, one awesome cache was a Virtual atop the tallest peak in Texas. A great 8+ mile hike up (then down) with my son. Another was just a small tupperware container under a rock ledge not far from the Mexico border - another cache with awesome views. One was an ammo can about 60 feet up a tree that required my first ever time using an Ascender/Descender to get up and down - I was exhausted when that one was done. Another one was a WVTim cache that was at GeoWoodstock. I own a cache that has received a goodly number of Favorite Points (and a lot more "AWESOME CACHE" logs) that is "just a micro in a cemetery". Another is a 2 foot long wooden caboose I built and have deployed at an old train depot building now used as a Visitor Center. I have never given a Favorite Point to a cache that had lots of errors or misspelled words on the cache page. Several of my caching friends are former educators, and feel the same way. You should work on that, maybe get a Mommy Yoda or Daddy Yoda to proofread your work. Go out and find lots of caches that have high Favorite Points on them. You can then have a good idea on what to do for your hides.
  2. Why do you believe those coordinates are the ones? (Did you fly over there and place it yourself?)
  3. I was referring to the image that covers the cache area & distance from my location - as shown in the screen grab. Otherwise I would have clipped the bit you referenced, which is likely needed to get the cache published in the current times.
  4. There's something weird on that page. Like how far from me is it located? I wonder how that additional artwork is placed over the needed part of the cache page?
  5. You can't really expect a cache to be instantly archived based on one NA log. You can expect to wait the usual couple months, depending on the Reviewer workload and area. COVID has relaxed the time limits on some archivals to allow the CO more time to respond because of lockdown orders, etc.
  6. I have yet to locate any new 'benefit' of the revised Dashboard. Removing the useful Search link is not a benefit to me.
  7. The prior CO didn't care enough to maintain the series, so why should you care to keep those caches going? Get your new caches ready and archive the old ones.
  8. As a cacher who lives in a small country town, there aren't any "Virtual worthy" spots within a long distance of me. If I had been awarded a Virtual Reward listing, I would have to go to a location at least 50 to maybe 75 miles away to have a suitable-to-me placement. Just like regular geocaches, GS can only limit how close together they are placed, not that a cache is placed in remote or seldom traveled locations.
  9. I clicked your name and am linked to your user profile. Your cache history/activity is displayed there. As to asking for hints on puzzle caches, the cache owner is the best person to ask. When I need help, I always start my message with the steps I have tried, and the ideas I have about the solution. Thus far, I have been given the nudge to get me in the right direction toward a solution. Good luck in this new hobby.
  10. I suspect that the group of three who found before you were making note of which cacher actually made the find. OV is a part of their caching name.
  11. Shouldn't this thread be moved to the appropriate App Forum?
  12. I just experienced the same. My DNF Drafts appeared as a Found Its when I clicked the Compose Log. Windows/Vivaldi (Chrome-based browser) Another "Not Ready For Prime-Time" update.
  13. I see what @The Jester is talking about:
  14. Tested again, with same results. This is the text in the side bar where cache info usually appears: No matching results Try zooming out or changing your search criteria to include more results. Or try a quick search This is using Windows, with each of three browsers, Edge, Firefox, Vivaldi (a Chrome variant).
  15. Maybe related, maybe not, but I just did a search which returned 83 results (Search was for caches owned by K13). When I clicked to Map these Geocaches, the map opened, but showed zero caches.
  16. Minimum age is more likely related to USA internet usage standards for minors that were in place at the time the website was created.
  17. Well, you certainly cannot have an event online. Perhaps the event will be postponed until a later date when your area allows in-person gatherings.
  18. How would this work on my Garmin GPSr, or are you asking for a phone app change? And what happens in those areas with no phone signal?
  19. I feel very confident that Greounspeak nor its volunteer reviewers have no "Landowner Database" as you envision, aside from the Regional Wiki that was cited earlier. As to why a reviewer is now asking for the contact information your specific landowner, perhaps there is an internal policy change for the reviewers, or maybe a new reviewer that doesn't 'know you' yet.
  20. Most of those 10 stop AL were special ones given to groups/organizations, not individuals. The 10 stop I setup for LoneStar RoundUp is owned by TXGA. I did a couple by the Conroe Visotors Bureau(?) that were 10 or more stops, probably granted along with their GeoTrail.
  21. Jacksonville, TX has concrete tomatoes at many locations/businesses. Both Palestine and Rusk, TX have concrete cabooses (they are the two ends of the Texas State Railroad).
  22. There are a couple apps for Wherigo although I usually use my GPS for them.

    LIST

I'm not aware of any method to extract the cache code/name and just the hint. You may have to open each cache listing then decrypt the hint & copy/paste to a spreadsheet. Or use a yellow legal pad to hand-write them.
  24. Virtuals were archived because of the issues with the Review process associated with them. (Some people were submitting things like a deer carcass as a virtual cache, then there was the 'Wow Factor' vagueness that caused more issues for Reviewers). Waymarking is not caching, but is a listing of locations (or certain things at locations) - and therefore entirely virtual by definition.
  25. Change for the sake of change seems to be a mantra at Geocaching.com. The 'old' dashboard worked great and looked good on my computer. This new page has tons of wasted whitespace, and has me searching for the things I want to see or use. I HATE IT!!! PLEASE DO NOT DELETE THE "OLD" CACHE LOGGING FORM. The new one has diminished function to me.
