  1. A quick search at the main search page - link Go to the search by country and select Belize, then click Go. I received a list of 54 caches in Belize, which include some Earth Caches with the word caye in their titles.
  2. +1, Icons without the text are a lot of extra trouble for everyone who doesn't already know what the icons represent.
  3. Chris, I have bolded parts of your comment to address each of these points with some things to think about. Your reputation in your caching community is based several things, like the types of caches you place, the accuracy of the coordinates, the quality of the cache containers you use and how well you maintain those caches. Other cachers will judge you on these things more than they will judge you on how many caches you put out. The trophy of increased recognition in the community can be for either bad or good. If you have a bunch of caches and the coordinates are 60 to 75 feet wrong, you WILL have an increased recognition in your community, but it would be for something not-too-good. If those caches you have with coordinates being 75 to 100 feet wrong haven't been fixed, do it as soon as you can. That will be a great improvement in your reputation as a cache owner. If you will do these things and have at least 45 geocachers at your event, you will be my Geocacher of the Year. Good luck.
  4. I thought events were for Geocachers to get together, meet other Geocachers and discuss Geocaching. Try your idea and see what the reviewer has to say. (They may love tubing.)
  5. I just mouse hover over them. A description pops up (except for the two overlapping grey icons, which I think means "Multiple Trackables", but I'm uncertain, and the frowny-face just says "Didn", which is odd). There was a [smashed ant] icon in the list, I couldn't figure out what it could mean, hovered it, and it turns out it's a particular Geocoin. Is there an announcement by GS that grey icons are the final solution for the site? If not, they're in the process of changing things, nicer ones are coming, these are not the icons you're looking for. There seem to be intermediate steps for most any change around here, and Step One tends to be lousy for some reason. I also think someone big among TPTB loves faded pastels. The new "wrench" is not grey, it's red. The TB icon isn't gray, it's exactly the same black-outlined icon it's been for a while. I think this is all still actively in work, or everything would be part of a standard, a theme. It doesn't look finished to me. A magnifier tool works wonders, too. I click a mouse button, and the spot where the cursor is gets huge. No problems then (it is kind of blocky but what ya gonna do). On my 'droid, everything is half as big as it needs to be, to see. There's a swipe for that. There are tons of indecipherable Geocoin icons, and I think they're the same as they've always been(?). Such as this one, almost invisible: I understand, but in my entire little world of the Internet, this is the only site that I have to mouse-over icons or use a magnifier tool. It wasn't that way a week ago today, and hopefully, it won't be after 1 Pm tomorrow. +1 (my bolded parts)
  6. Great to hear this! I really hope there is more than just the blue face. The shades of gray were more of an issue for me and I'm sure those who are red/green colorblind are hoping for some relief as well. Thanks for the information about the quick fix.
  7. My streak is over. Ever tried to keep a streak going? What ended it? Congratulation or condolences (whichever one feels appropriate). Yes, for 19 days. A return of my Sanity.
  8. I just checked a couple of caches I'm involved with and the images are giving me the same message. ???
  9. The quality of geocaches is a constant, the quantity of geocaches is exploding.
  10. I've heard of Virtual caches, but VIRTUAL ATTENDANCE at an event??? Premium Member 223 Attended 12/12/2012 Spirit Eagle Premium Member 223 Write note 12/12/2012 Well I was the spirit attendee for this event! Apropos as I am also a Spirit Eagle, ask anyone who knows me at a XXXXXX Football game. I was in constant contact with the event organizer right up to the moment she rolled into the a Red Zone! Sorry I missed the face to face, but I was certainly there in spirit!!!
  11. It would seem to me that you answered your own question. See bolded portion of your post...
  12. The grays make it difficult to quickly discern between some incos. The other suggestions in the other thread look great. GC graphics person could co-opt those and be a hero!
  13. I've had one published within 30 minutes of submitting. I've had a couple others take a few days. It varies with the "work load" of you area's Reviewer. Don't be discouraged. Also look to your spam filter, in case an e-mail from the review goes unnoticed. Good Luck!!
  14. Nothing wrong with changing the toilet paper, but when you do that when you should be using the plunger... there's the problem. coming from someone who just finished a BATHROOM upgrade.
  15. Shhh! Don't give them any ideas!!
  16. Try this one: Caches are placed so that the surrounding environment, whether natural or human-made, is safe from intentional or unintentional harm. Property must not be damaged or altered to provide a hiding place, clue, or means of logging a find. The combined experience of many seasoned cachers has shown that the stance of GC and its reviewers is as follows: A nail will damage or deface a tree, therefore it is against the guideline. When you ask your reviewer if the cache you plan to hide is nailed to a tree, please copy the reply here. We all want to see how they explain it to you.
  17. +1 Instead of "run out and get one", I'd rather "walk out and get them all".
  18. We buy them books, send them to school, and all they want to do is argue with the teachers!
  19. Look at the bottom of a cache listing from your hmoe area. The "Published" log entry (usually just below the FTF, is the review for that area. Click on their username to send them an e-mail through the GC website.
  20. So, how will the new schemes fit there? Especially the PQ page?
  21. Thanks for stepping in with some cool-headed moderation! I will say, though, that I don't hear many people complaining that the site never changes. I do, however, hear a lot of complaints that suggestions don't get given adequate review and too much energy is spent on things that were never asked for. +1 I see the gloom has overtaken your avatar.
  22. Change, for the sake of change, is not necessarily progress. Change without explanation is often frustrating. Thus far, I'm not liking this.
  23. You lost my ten votes (I stuff ballot boxes) with the power trails for everyone Is that more to your liking? My constituency has spoken! I need those votes!
