  5. Or worse, wait until some finder starts making long distance calls. Just burns up the prepaid minutes. Only way it would cost more minutes then usual is if it was an international call. International is what I should have said... As for a cache with a phone in it, recently I found a multi cache, the first stage was a small birdhouse like thing in a tree that opened up. Inside was an old cord phone, you picked up the receiver and the (recorded) final coordinates were played aloud through the phone. I was more thinking about having the finder call or text and having the phone light up or make a sound to where the final location was, I have seen online people using laser pointers to show where the cache location is found. I would have to rig up sommething with a solar cell to keep the battery charged.
  6. I have been kicking around a way to use one of those cheap pay cellphones and use it as part of a multi cache. What are your ideas? Or a listing of geocache that uses something like this.
  7. After my wife and I got married we made a team name of "Cachejunkies". We thought it was a great name since we both loved the sport.

  10. Not a good price, some of the forum members have reported finding them for as low as $199.00 I bought both units at REI and found out the following after using them for a few days The 62st has a total of ~4 gigs of internal memory & the topo software the 62s has a total of ~2 gigs of internal memory. I ended up keeping the 62s, because i have all the software from my 60csx and other garmin gps's. I also like to only load a few states on the gps and utilize the extra space for poi's and geocaches. hope this helps., Cachejunkies There are better prices to be had. Today(1/5/2011) at 9:45 AM PST Amazon.com is having a Lightning Deal on the 60CSx which means it will be even less than $199.00 and with free shipping if you are a Prime Member.

  16. Fellow geocachers. I would like to offer up Garmin 60CS for sale. The unit has been to many caches and different locatons. The gps is in good working order. The screen has a small scratch on the upper middle of the screen. I accidently scratched it when i first got the unit, and the rubber on the antenna has a small tear. The gps works excelent, and is unaffected by these issues. The gps has most of colorado loaded, and I can load it with the street map / topo for your area. I paid arround $499 for it when it first came out. I am asking $145.00 and will ship it for free to anywhere in USA. I have a paypal account if that will help speed the transaction.
