  1. The statement about needing permission is needed by this website to protect their own liability. It seems that if you put the coordinates of a place that you wish to place a cache and see that others are already in the general area it would be redundant to pursue permission. Of course if it's personal property rather then public property permission should always be received.
  2. The nice thing about the Waymarking.com site, relating to virtuals, is if you want to come up with the category and post it through the peer review process, you can! Just build a group around the idea, define it, and put it through the peer review. Mr T's Wow category has not yet gone through the category creation process because they can't figure out how to define Wow. Maybe you can come up with a good definition. Although I have to warn you - the entire volunteer reviewer group couldn't come up with a good definition for it. That's kind of the point. I took your suggestion and joined the group. I sent a message to the group leader with my definition and alternative names.
  3. I think that they should come up with a different name then WoW. World of Warcraft is currently the most popular multi-player online game and I figured you were talking about that.
  4. Good thing you can drive there. It would cost $8.68 to ship one ammo can from them via UPS. I guess so. It will cost me a lot less to just drive there then that. That's actually more for shipping then it is for the ammo can.
  5. I live is Idaho Falls and plan on trying to find the Army Surlus Warehouse this weekend. It used to be downtown but they moved it a couple of years ago. I see it everytime I drive South on I-15 however I'm not quite sure how to get there.
  6. In your case, Army Surplus Warehouse just south of IF. 30mm are fairly cheap. They also have Decon Containers for 1.00. Thanks. What is a Decon container?
  7. Thanks, there's an army surplus store in town. I'll check it out. I like to go hiking so I want something that will stand up to the weather if placed in the woods.
  8. I am new to this and I haven't broken any yet. I do have a question though since I was thinking of placing some myself. Where do you get ammo boxes at?
  9. I have also just started and ran into the same problem with the GPS I bought. The manual told how to set something as a waypoint when you are there but not how to enter one for a location you are heading to. I finally figured it out just by playing around on the system and pressing buttons until I got it to work. I got the Garmain etrax. Of course finding the location is just half the battle. Actually finding the cache once you get there can be a bit puzzling. The first one I tried was small and the GPS location led me to a tree. I found the second one I tried after looking throughly for over fifteen minutes of course that one was a large box which was helpful.
  10. I plan on doing some out of town in the future. It does seem rather conveinant for after work to just go find one or two when they are so close though.
  11. I figured it had to do with caches found as well.
  12. I watched the same news report you did and found my way here. I still need to get a GPS so that I can find a geocache. I already found a couple of virtual caches based on their decription and because I work across the street from where they are at and see them everyday. I plan on checking stores around this area this weekend so that I can get a GPS to get started.
