  1. Thank you all for your awesome replies. I cant wait to make the trip and somehow I have a feeling i'll never want to leave! Haha
  2. Wow! That would be awesome!! I plan to drive up on the 5th of december, do the tour and visit hq the 6th and return to Westport on the 7th.
  3. Hi all, for my birthday this year I have arranged to visit the lily pad for the first time! WooHoo! To say the least, I am excited. My question for you is what other caches should I take my time for in the area? I love the crafty hides and unique challenging field puzzles so throw me names if the ones you enjoyed Also if there is anyone who would like to meet and chat that lives near Fremont let me know and we can set it up! I want to make this birthday count!
  4. Never hosted before.. dont really know how that all works :/
  5. That post right there just hurt your image. Where's the pitchforks and torches at? Hahahaha XD I honestly dont even know what to say. Thats blasphemy
  6. I found a car key attached to a laminated note that read something along the lines of "subaru hatchback at these cords with blown tranny. Clean title in the glove box and heres the key"
  7. Haha i would have hiked it out anyway i love hiking and 5/5? Im goin!
  8. Ummmm??? :/ I believe this is not a good idea.. I have many caches you could never replace in the way my cache was intended with leaky film canister.. Ick...
  9. I was curious about this too. Now this will just change my name nothing about find count? Just curious
  10. Thanks terrkan. I will check that out. Id just love to meet some locals
  11. Hello. I am new to grants pass and have cached a bit but havent run into any other cachers and the caches dont seam to be hit often. Is anybody here?
  12. If I am off in the deep woods or a not so well traveled trail I will carry a smaller side arm with rodent-shot rounds for snakes etc. Ive never had issues with bigger critter. Other than that? No... "Honey, Wheres my glock?! A new LPC at fair grounds was published!"
  13. Wonder what it was?? Ive learned it really is all about your mentality when youre searching.
  14. I was planning on placing a river-bed cache with some wading required but can't settle on a good anchoring method.. i dont want chain due to rust, rope rots.. just havent nailed it yet. Somethings apparently take time or a bright light bulb haha
  15. Right?! The only way id hide a cache that hatd to get to is if it had a whole spiral write in the rain notebook for the log. Haha
  16. I went looking for a supposedly large cache with a 1/1 maybe a 1/1.5 with very little clues or hints. when i arrived at gz there was a power pole and a huge boulder rock hill. First thing I checked was the pole of course to no prevail so i started questioning the difficulty.. maybe too low? I dont know... so i started hauling rocks around gz. Spent about 45 minutes moving rocks to finally wave the white flag and go home.. I woke up the next day with an epiphany. Rode my geobike back to gz and literally had to sit down from laughing so hard when i looked at that power pole again.. there was a 3 inch diameter by 12 ft long grey pvc pipe stood up against the pole and attached with a bungie cord. I have never laughed so hard from a find
  17. I did some searching and didn't find anything particular so I figured i'd start this topic. We have all searched way too long for that low difficulty cache and gone home empty handed at some point. This topic is for the people who went back and found it! Tell the story of you're geo adventure and lets see who has some good laughs and the best in-your-face cache stories If you tell a story about a cache do NOT include cache names or gc codes to prevent ANY spoilers. Just stories Lets hear em!
  18. I would never post bad cords knowingly. Thats wrong and not a part of the game..
  19. Kunarion, I think you said the right thing hmmm... My brain is aching. My non geocaching life career consists of some very "tricky" stuff. I may just need to dig deeper.
  20. Im not going to place a needle in a haystack with off coords.. thanks for the article, ive read that one several times. I think maybe a puzzle/multi/field puzzle would make for a hard find. I just dont have the puzzle mind! Aghhhh......
  21. Wow didn't expect that many replies that fast. Thanks for the positive comments. As for terain i would like to keep that low, 1-1.5 tops. I recently read about a cache titled "A real challenge" and that sounds so out of the box.. maybe what im lookinv for.. I have found a toothpick with coords written on it in a wooded area grrr.. Keep the ideas coming? No need to be harsh or mean. Just convsrsating and getting ideas! Thanks again
  22. Hello, I have been a "lurker" here for some time and just recently felt the urge to post. Im in a pickle... I have found some incredibly hard caches and I also have placed some tricky ones. My question is.. How do I place a cache that is so rediculously hard to find that it is "impossible" and ends up on more than a few ignore lists I love this game and in placing caches, I have experimented with new ideas and this is something that keeps coming back in my mind. I want a cache that is findable but VERY hard. Any ideas would be great! If you have found a cache that racked youre brain and dont mind spoiling it so it can be modified/recreated for others to enjoy feel free to PM me! Thanks!
