  1. My daughter is 3 and has attended 2 annual Scottish Cache Bashes with me and has been out walking and looking for caches with me ever since she was able to walk. Here she is aged 18 months finding the box. (ok so I drove the car to the area but she found it with a little help after I gave her the spoiler)
  2. We have friends that live in NI and when we visit them I would like to be able to have some maps that I can use on my laptop/pda. I use memory map at the moment which I find an amazing program and quite often spend a lot of time searching the maps for places to visit/cache/camp or paddle. The question is do you get Irish maps for it (North and South) and if so are they any good. If not what do you use instead. ANy scale would be good as I have none at the moment.
  3. I was just going to suggest the same think, You beat me to it!
  4. a topic is pinned at the top of the forum for these things
  5. I have lost count of the number of times I have been forced to delete Fugawi and re-install it because it froze up my Palm M505...so if there is a solution or a workaround to this map problem I would dearly like to hear it ??? Simple get Memory Map
  6. cant promise the sea will be calm, but a cache can be hidden somewhere out of the ordinary! edited to note this is my five hundred and fifty fith post on the forums
  7. Anyone interested in a 5 star terrain cache for the event? There is a slight possibillity that this could be arranged if anyone is interested.
  8. I lost my etrex at the 2nd annual scottish cache bash in aviemore, I reported it missing with the aviemore police and posted a note on the cache page of the cache I was near when I lost it but it never turned up. Many people spent some time coaming the area with no luck! I had the misfortune of keeping it in a nice cammo green coloured neoprene gps case I think it must of fallen down an animal burrow.
  9. My insurance replaced my missing etrex, After a long battle they paid out approx £110 towards a new unit. that was £160 -£50 excess, Which I put towards a 60cs . Its worth reading the small print of your insurance policy before phoning and if you even think it might be covered. hassle them until the pay up I called mine twice a day every day until they posted out a cheque
  10. GCMPPR the event page is now online thanks to our speedy approvers. See you all in May. Cheers Donnie
  11. We have just statred to get broadband in the 2 main towns and a couple of the bigger villages will be getting it soon. As for pc hardware there are a couple of shops locally that sell a few bits and pieces but not much our nearest proper pc place is pc wold in Inverness which is about 120 miles south.
  12. Although we are up in the frozen north I can confirm we do have the following Hot and Cold running water Electricity Inside Toilets Television Mobile Phone coverage (well most places do) Beer Shops Tarred Roads Midges Fresh Air Wilderness Friendly Locals Nice Spots for Caches Expensive petrol Sheep Elusive big cats on the prowl Golden Eagles Ospreys Best wild brown trout fishing in europe If you think I am daft I have been asked some of these questions by people when I have been away on holiday after they have discovered where I am from.
  13. Look at my user name do you think I would pick a place that doesnt sell beer!!!!!!!
  14. You didn't say how much a litre though....... Probably better to bring your own. Last Stop for cheapish Diesel will be Inverness about 150 miles away from the event Whenever we go to tescos(our nearest tescos) we allways try to make sure we can make it on whats left in the tank so that we can fill up to the neck and save about 11p a litre compared to home prices.
  15. Ok sounds good so far, Keep em coming all suggestions will be taken into consideration.
  16. I am getting down to planning out a cache bash on the North Coast of Scotland at the end of May and want to hear what people want from such an event, All ideas will be taken on board and I hope that I can arrange something that people will want to travel North and enjoy.
  17. No the scottish note doesnt have a picture of the queen. So I should of thought of that because you are not finding lizzie. We have a picture of Mary Slessor on Clydsedale bank £10, Sir Walter Scott on The Bank Of Scotland £10, Lord Ilay on The Royal Bank £5, and thats all the money I have . Also the different banks seem to use a different format for ser nos. The Clydsedale Bank has this format A/BC 123456. The Royal Bank A/23 123456. The Bank of Scotland AB123456. Much to confusing I think, better if you just stick with Queen Elizabeth the 1st.
  18. Thought I would try but Bank Of Scotland Notes Only have 8 digit serial numbers Just looking at the stats on the site how come you guys have so much notes left after Christmas!!! Me I only have 2 left until payday
  19. What about Scottish notes will they work for your system. I dont often see english notes up here. When I do I usually spend them quick so they dont stay in my hands for long (well I could say that for any notes I get my hands on)
  20. When I upgraded to MM2004 I sold my old MM2003 map discs on ebay but I clearly stated on the auction page it was maps only that I was selling as I was keeping the serial number etc because I needed it to make the 2004 version work. The person I sold it to already had the full working version of the program and only needed my map regions to complete the set. I wonder if this is what the seller has done in this case and not mentioned it on the auction page.
  21. I have only just completed the first Half life game. I have seen the 2nd version at someones house playing online and it looks brilliant.
